did you try restarting? Looks like Unity is failing to login which it needs to do because it's asset store functions exclusively through the engine. If restarting fails, i'ed try Reinstalling based off Ruuubicks faulty install thought.

Turns out the reason I was able to see through the mirror was because I was using Ambient Occlusion, noted to not use that on VRC

if you used the vrcworld prefab, in the scene descriptor there should also be player mods. jumping can get switched to zero if you leave the prefab packed.

I need some ideas for my nighttime forest map. I'm making a map that is themed to be a peaceful, sleeping map that is set in a campsite under the stars. However, if you decide to explore beyond the campsite, it's an unsettling semi-horror experience. I want to have some creepy elements that are scattered around the map as an easter egg, you'd only find them if you walk around. So far, I have an abandoned pickup truck with it's door open at the end of a dirt path, with all the lights on pointed into the woods.

yup! And to make a model/gameobject have collisions, you'd need to add a collider component in the inspector. Box/sphere/capsule colliders are relatively cheap on performance, and there's otherwise the more expensive mesh collider. Try to keep the polygon count low with mesh colliders, since another collider interacting with a mesh collider would potentially have to check against every single polygon on that mesh collider

the pickup is only the start of a visual story. What happened to the occupants? Maybe dimming and flickering headlights are slightly illuminating something. That something depends on how frightful you want to be. Maybe the remains of a couple that opted out together, a chopping block tree stump covered in bits, gnomes in a summoning circle.

using a realistic globe that has a separate land and atmosphere so they can potentially move independently? Reason I ask is because it looks like there is clipping dead center which happens because the globe isnt a perfect circle and realistic models relay that. So if the atmosphere isnt scaled larger, when it is rotated it has that clip. Had an issue with the same visual effect on my space station. It does look pretty tho. I enjoy planetary models.

yes, but technically you'ed have to share vrc login credentials. Only way to properly test without changing the blueprint id for each user on each test or check the sdk.

Hey! not sure if anyone can help me here. im messing about making a world, and the strangest thing keeps happening. under build and test its perfectly fine, but after an upload to VRC and attempts to load into the world it looks like it attempts it for a fraction of a second and then just boots me back to my homeworld?.... any suggestions?

Also the worlds been built in the new unity version.
also tried creating a new scene and moving my prefabs into that, still the same issue, even moving spawn onto a basic plane in the open.

I have a lot of UI text components in my world, I have them toggled off with a button to toggle them on. My issue is that they used to work properly when I had fewer pages, but not that I have several thousand, when you toggle them on, some of the pages do not load correctly, it only shows the punctuation or a select few letters.
Any ideas on how I can ensure the whole text always loads when toggled on?

you are probably hitting the global rate limit of 1 url request per 5 seconds https://docs.vrchat.com/docs/video-players#rate-limiting

I wouldn't recommend having more than video player running at the same time too, and for your case might not even be necessary?
I imagine your background music would be mono channel, so you could just encode a video with left and right audio channel with each bgm, and use av pro to have each channel's audio source in their appropriate location.

If you get a bit ambitious and try to code your own; raycast is your friend. It's what will allow you to snap, along side of ghost pieces for previews. You'll need to do some homework.

well, hard to say, but from my experience an anime avatar is usually around 1.3 - 1.4m tall

Rotation constraints, make a game object, it doesn’t need to do anything but be in the hierarchy, then set a rotation constraint targeting that object. You can enable or disable that rotation constraint if you need it only active onpickup/drop

Hi guys, I am now trying to delve into portal creations, and have a theory of an expanded, connected-worlds quest.
Can someone tell me if this is possible?

A private world, only accessible through a public world through a portal.
Also, can portals be set to be 'unlocked' say, through button press? This way, I can create portals to a private world that players can unlock after completing required tasks.

Hmm. I only need the same players from the previous world to be brought over to the next.
So flow is pretty much like this:
2 worlds, world1 is public, which is where they will start from, and world2, private, which they will access through world1 portal once tasks are completed.
Each world instance will just have 5 players, with the portal in world1 only leading the players in that instance to the same instance in world2.
Should be fine, yeah? Sorry if my questions are basic. I am really new to vrc, with just 30hrs gameplay clocked.

If there is a way to save game progress on an external server and call them, thats ideal.

Last I checked a portal to a private unlisted world takes the player to an instance by themselves. No harm in testing, just need two worlds each with a plane to stand on and portals + one other person.

Hi everyone! I just uploaded my first test world into VRC 🙂
I'm having trouble getting spatialized audio working. I have a UNity audio source which plays non-spatialized (2d) audio when I have it on its own. I can hear the background audio in VRC.
But when I add a VRC_Spatial Audio Source component to that object, with default settings, I hear nothing in VRC. That object has both the Unity Audio Source and also the VRC Spatial Audio.
Any tips for getting spatialized audio working?

Make sure you're using Unity 2019.4.29f1 and no other version, and make sure you dont have/have had multiple SDK versions imported maybe? past that, right-click the VRChat SDK in the inspector and hit Reimport? Reimport All might help too, though that could take a while depending on how big your project is

vv not sure this'll help, but try right-clicking the VRChat SDK in the asset browser and hitting Reimport? Reimport All might help too, though that might take a while depending on how big your project is
could also try restarting Unity to see if that helps/makes any errors/warnings show up?

@wicked forge I'm working on my first VRChat creation (so very new here), But... my upload button was also disabled. I had a Unity PlayerController in my scene for testing. Upload worked fine when I disabled the PLayerController.

PlayerController is a unity object hierarchy which includes a camera and a bunch of scripts. It allows you to run around in a Unity world. It controls the player behavior.
VRC has its own playercontrol mechanisms (Avatars). Turns out my intended-for-unity-only PlayerController caused my VRC Upload button to be greyed out.

For those of you familiar with the uhhh club world that FBT Heaven was taken from... They had that dance floor, it has infinity mirror type lights in it. Anyone know how that's done?

Having an issue where when I load into the world I built it will 100% load and I can start to hear the music play but before i can see anything visually, I get sent back to my home world. My friend who helped me upload the world has no issues on their end, and the first time I uploaded the world it was fine.. but after baking lights i can no longer load in.

If your using 2018 then im not 100% sure if this works, but in 2019 it's a glitch with the sdk. Hit ignore and it will upload fine.

Oh click. The click event is called "Interact" You are using the event (they are green colored) called "OnplayerTriggerExit, which fires when a player exits a trigger.

If we're not counting actual player numbers, there was that player number issue a couple months ago, some worlds were in the low 10k figures from what I saw lol
