where i live it is artifically inflated

extraction and shipment costs 1/4 of the price of fuel

1/2 is tax which wasnt applied 3 years ago

the other 1/4 is pure profit

half of it is artificial inflation whilst fuel has been the highest its ever been

where i live its roughly 9.522usd per us gallon

and if i ever see another american complain that $4 per gallon is too expensive, itll be off with their heads istg

then 0.48 on tax, and 1.00 on profit

most of it is uncontrolled profit margins and insanely high taxes, which then falls on everyone else and in turn causes rapid inflation here

energy prices have doubled, even as we move more renewable

the entire cost of getting, refining, and transporting the fuel costs 0.55 or so here

it was about 1.1 before this whole frenzy happened, now its nearing 2.1 only a couple months after due to new taxes and deregulation of oil companies

there is no domestic market here. were totally dry of everything par crops

no coal, oil, gas, nothing

any country that doesnt have its own source domestically is being hit doubly as hard as everybody else, and cause of the recession from covid, a lot have gone into poverty again

where i live only 2% of crude oil was russian

it wouldve been negligible to prices, maybe a 0.06 increase

now for a single us gallon its almost 10 usd

hasnt slowed it here, just causing rapid inflation

energy doubled in price, fuel doubled, food doubled, wages stayed the same

i personally am struggling to make a comfortable amount of money now

even after 2 wage increases, im still only coming out with 150-200 that i can spend to myself
