I can't really say one thing is the SIMPLEST thing. But if I had to pick a starting point I'd say unity. There's a few free "Bases" that ready to upload that you could grab and dig into.

But I don't want to bog down the channel. Suffice to say, I'd experiment with editing bases, textures and stuff in unity. Get familiar. Eventually, you'll want a quest one. That's when you can start into blender.
