Holoport lets you move in 3rd person, so if you have motion sickness, use that
comfort turning snaps your camera instead of smoothly turning it, again helps with motion sickness
personal space makes other players disappear when you get too close to them and reapper when you're further away
I think 3rd person rotation is, when you use holoport, if 3rd person rotation is on, you'll rotate to your avatars rotation, when it's turned off, you'll stay in your current rotation

If you're not charging a livable wage for your work then you simply don't value yourself or your time. Pandering to people who are cheap and unwilling to pay what you're worth and instead seeking the lowest possible cost aren't clients worth having or worth your effort or time.
I've seen an absolute shit ton of people pay north of 100-150+ for texture work. There are plenty of reasons why avatar edits can run that much. Nobody wants some noob editing their shit, and a lot of people simply are unwilling or unable to learn the tools no matter how easy it is. Sub 50-60$ edits simply are too cheap unless the edit can be done in less than two hours max. Too many people when they start out editing stuff for commission undervalue themselves and their time and wind up spending many, many hours editing an avatar for what works out to be sub min wage, which is purely a growing lesson for new artists and shouldn't/doesn't represent actual fair costs for skilled work.
For example, you can go on Craigslist and get a photographer for a wedding that only costs 400 bucks, but you'll get a noob with cheap equipment who just is starting and has no idea how to put a value on their work. Yet you can also drop 2-4000$ which is what weddings actually cost, and ensure you wind up with something you actually love. Just because the former example exists, doesn't make that the norm, so often people see the bottom end of what people charge and assume that's just what the market charges and end up scoffing at the higher rate work, but that's just another learning experience but for the buyer this time.
Good clients know how much work costs and good artists know how to value themselves and properly price their work.

Don't have a Reverb G2, but the controllers don't have capacitive touch sensors, while the layout is like the oculus touch controllers. But the lack of touch sensors is gonna make them behave like vive wands, which doesn't work that well with thumbsticks
so the controllers alone are a red flag against getting the Reverb G2

I fully agree, even if I didn't have any "real" depression I think I know what you mean when speaking of escapism...
I have no serious "trouble" in RL but I also rather like to spend time in virtual environments than in RL...It helps me countering the feeling that I have not that many contacts outside from my family.
Some kind of social anxiety makes it hard, additionaly my (Asperger) autism doesn't makes it easier to engage in social activities in RL. Well, last one rather makes it harder for me to find long-lasting contacts.
For some reason these problems are less strong (for me) when I'm in a virtual environment. Well, also VRChat costs me some good amount of "strength" to overcome these problems. Interacting in Voicechats like Discord provides is the easiest way for me...
Btw. @pseudo basalt I just saw that you wrote in your "About Me" that you are a programmer. May I ask in what kind of business? Just curious...I'm learning softwaredevelopment now for 4 years on my own and after my final exams I plan to study information technology. On discord you can just choose to not display it all and at the end of the day it’s up to the devs themselves to implement rich presence support for their game to discord via the discord developer portal so discord just provides the capability. Maybe I'm a moron and didn't delve into registry keys or what not to shut things off properly, and I'd completely own up to that. But what a limited fraction of users do who care about such things in the face of the absolutely massive numbers of others who don't know/care about such things doesn't really matter. And I would jump ship to Linux again, might do when I'm forced off of W10, but again, because everyone else uses it, there's a metric butt load of software that just won't work under Linux. It's getting better all of the time, but not quite there yet.

VRChat uses something called Udon, and a person called Merlin made it so that we can program C# and have that C# code be turned into Udon scripts. So essentially I'm coding VRC worlds in C# now

It's malware, it doesn't care what the user wants, the updates will intentionally change your settings for the worse, the updates are forced and will often bring critical errors with them, you get no chances of saving your work. It's filled with ads and shovelware, it has "apps" like some xbox shit? And it launches itself and uses CPU time now and then for no apparent reason? It also treats you like a baby. "Windows crashed :( we will send your personal information to Microsoft, but fuck if we trust you enough to give you a proper error code"
XP did what I told it to, and I could set .gif files as background image, and it didn't crash very often
