FWIW though, unlikely you'll see them again if it was a public world, and sending them a random friend request to get their attention is almost certainly going to be ignored because it's wierd to do that when you're not talking to them/in the same world, plus you've been mean to them.

Depends on your VR controllers. On Oculus and Index controllers you just physically do the gesture but with the Vive wands you slide your thumb in a certain direction on the touch pad.

Log in to the VRChat website and go to the “Avatars” tab. There will be an option to “Reset to default avatar.”
That should fix your issue. If an avatar is too large, you’re unable to click your menu.

i think the most you can do is turn down avatar volume, but that only affects you

ah - you could try moving through all the gestures (hold left/right shift and press the F1 through F8 keys, left shift for left hand and right shift for right) to see if there's an emote to turn off the sound - alternatively, you could open the radial menu (hold down R on desktop, or hold down the menu button in VR) and see if there's a gesture in there that turns it off
otherwise no, there wouldn't be a way to disable that sound

It's not hour based, but you can merge your old steam account with your new vrchat account to transfer everything over

Launch the game from your steam account and press upgrade from the settings menu. It will give you a code (merge token). Then go to the website and on your account page you can use that code to merge. It may take a while to fully transfer
