Honestly they might be new players who don't know any better. When I first started playing I found an avatar I loved and used it exclusively for over a week. But I got curious what the "avatar stats" button did and noticed it had red in every category.

I just didn't know lol. VRC doesn't make it obvious to noobs. I now know the red/orange/green dot next to avatar means something.

I did took a closer look at some popular very poor avatars, and most of them are setup like that and really bad. They just slap accessories on it like there is no tomorrow. One particular accessory that I saw a lot (some kind of belt around the leg) has like 120'000 Polygones alone and like 7 materials...

If a smoothbrain like me can split up the mesh to materials with blender, find the hella unoptimized stuff and can use a slider to make it have a lot less polygons with often no visuals difference (because flat lit toon doesnt show most details anyway). Or even flat out remove parts that dont show up anyway like arms under shirts and clothing.

Its really just a question of 'how much time do i want to spend' and not how hard is it.

Dissolving edge loops is the most non destructive way to reduce poly count IIRC, only works well if the topology is good though

You must obtain at least "New User" Trust Rank in our Trust and Safety system in order to upload content. You can get this by just spending a few hours in VRChat, hop some worlds, and make some friends. Give it some time and you'll be able to upload content in no time.

As an aside, you must have a VRChat account to upload content. That means you can't use a Steam account, Oculus account, or Viveport account to upload content like worlds or avatars.

Any idea why my social menu has been borked since the update? It never properly shows the worlds my friends are in, and I stop getting notifications after about 10 minutes of playtime. My only fix for this is to close and reopen vrchat, but I can't keep doing that every ten minutes when my social list stops updating -_-

I talked about racism in VR-Chat and if moderators could monitor rooms without self being seen, this after I saw a VRC+ member talking about black people as a lover race and so on, and one answer I got was; "Stop asking for more moderation and censorship", is this a common view in VRC?
One reason I wanted to see more moderation is for I think it is bad for VRC if that come out on Youtube and racist start to see this as a good platform to meet up in.

VRC is mostly alright, but they're bad at enforcing their rules. When they had the 20K polygon limit rule, you could be around mods with a 100K polygon one and they wouldn't care. If you don't want to enforce a rule then I think you should change it instead (and I guess they finally did)
