There is no way at all for PC avatars to show up on quest and the other way around.
So people gotta use a model that can be shown on both platforms.

To see an avatar you need the files for it, those 'rippers' just save those files instead of removing it like other people.
You can not stop that as they have it on there pc and there is no way to see if they are saving it or not.

If the product is at 30 bucks, you bid 31 and someone else bids 32 then yes.
If its at 30, you bid 40, it wont show as 40 untill someone bids 39 or higher.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting a deal on a headset. But the quest 2 is already unexpectedly cheap, so if you find a sharp discount on one, there’s probably something wrong with it. I’d be very careful unless you just don’t mind if it has dead pixels or something.

Quest 2 requires a usbc cable to connect to a computer if you want to play steam games on it. Otherwise it can only play it’s internal games on its own mobile cpu which don’t have as advanced of graphics (VRChat is very limited playing that way)

One big thing I will warn on is be careful around crazy avatars cause at least for me it makes my virtual desktop go crazy when people shoot off effects

Yeah oled screens have better colors than index. However index is higher resolution and MUCH higher FoV, it’s more than worth the trade

You can, like I'm using index controllers with various wmr headsets right now.

But the issue is wmr room scale tracking (and oculus insight to a lesser extent), don't track the head position 1:1 irl. It's good enough you will never notice, but in a decent playspace it will lag behind like a couple centimeters from one end to the other. Using the proper controllers is perfect, but using lighthouse tracked controllers with an inside out headset shows just how much they are out of sync in a play space

Index: higher FoV. Easy upgrade path to leg tracking if you want it. Has finger tracking. Way more comfortable headset.

Quest 2: very inexpensive. Higher resolution. Does not need to put sensors up around your room. Way more comfortable controllers.

thats the best course of action. you can download anatomical models online, professional or not, and then use blender to edit them. Hes correct about that too though, There are a LOT of Avatar Worlds.

When you click on a world there are a lot of instances on the bottom
They usually have a limit of 18 people hence why you dont see 500 people in a world even if it says that it has that many

I keep having this problem where no matter what world I'm in if there's a portal or a door it'll automatically make me go through it even if I'm nowhere near it and then I'm permanently stuck in that room and no more avatars will load from there on out and if I leave that world and go to another world it'll immediately reload the other world after I join the new world and stick me back where I was stuck I can't even turn around without it teleporting me back responding does not help I've reinstalled VR chat it's still having the same issue does anyone know what this is and any way to fix it

@hallow aurora that's because of your avatar. Your avatar most likely has a huge sphere with a mesh collider component on it. Mesh colliders make you go through portals since it gets rendered as your avatars mesh after all
