Yeah they showed that before, but it's a bit misleading imo. Since it uses just internal gyroscope and accelerometer sensing, it isn't as versatile as a real 6dof tracking system, and will likely be subject to drift

The problem is full body isn't used much. Only a few games support it, and even at that, the Vive trackers are not meant for full body. The market isn't quite there yet for most companies

In the past it was a simple choice between Vive, Rift or WMR, and all options were $500 or less. So the choice was basically save $40 with Oculus or go Vive and keep the door open for FBT.
These days it's $400 vs $1000 just to get started.

Also the tracking on Cosmos. Even after patches, it's still widely reported to be poor at best, and incredibly fussy about room lighting conditions.
Plus, the tiny 2 to 3 hour battery life the controllers have, despite using twice the batteries of Rift controllers.

Someone stepped on it so the strap's broken on the side, held together with superglue and electrical tape, the adhesive attaching the velcro for the face foam to the headset is starting to come off, so I can't really replace the disgusting stock foam without risking taking the whole velcro thing off

But you still need a method to quickly and reliably switch between expressions or other animations quickly and on the fly. With no menus involved.
The primitive seven gesture overrides we have now is obviously far from perfect, but it does surprisingly well once you start designing them for combinations.

The finger tracking is nice, but also has it's own limitations. But more specifically, it's the way expressions/animation control is tied to pre-defined finger gestures I don't like.
Eg, one of my expressions/animations MUST be rock & roll. One of them MUST be finger gun. etc.

avatar loading speed depends on the avatar. I have bigger (in terms of file size) avatars that take a few seconds to load (even after I downloaded them before and then restarted the game) and I also have smaller avatars that load almost instantly

well back in 2018 there were stricter limits, ever since they uncapped the tri limit alot of creators stopped caring about optimizing that part of their avatars which in turn caused much higher file sizes, theres also the problem where people dont know to turn on legacy blend shapes which can also sky rocket files sizes

Default just emulates Vive wands, which while not making full use of wmr is still compatible. The user binding that adds thumbstick functionality works well, the only problem is when that is enabled, things like go-karts won't work with those bindings

If I used any community bindings, no go-karts or similar stations worked. I would have to revert to the default bindings whenever using something like that with wmr. Otherwise I couldn't get them to move at all
