There's definitely more cross compatible worlds, but majority still aren't. It's due to the PC vrchat running on one version, and the Quest vrchat running on an Android version. The levels need to be encoded for both platforms (also optimized), and many Creators still don't

you level by just playing the game (not afk'ing). And its not just based on playtime. Also if you add friends (but it knows if you just spam friend requests to everyone) and explore worlds and interact with other users

go to your profile on vrchat.com/home and then rightclick, inpect element and then at the top in the console thingy click network. Then at the to it should say usr_(numers and stuff that are the same as in the url) and then look for the 2nd one that has the exact same numbers and stuff as in the url and then on the right by default "preview" is selected. Click on Response and scroll to the right until you see "system_trust(and then ranks)"

Yeah I need to fix up the model that I got from booth and atlas some of the textures. I tend to only use it in private / friends worlds so it isn't too bad, I'll definitely switch in public worlds though until I atlas it.

Yeah some people don't care at all though and most likely complain about poor performance as well.
I sometimes see people running around with like 30 - 60 material avatars with meshes separated as well and of course hiding their avatar improves performance quite a bit.

when I make avatars they are mostly medium performance and they take around 5-10 minutes to download for me. My friend made our friend group some avatars that are very poor (and also bring down my fps from 90 to 60 without looking at the mirror) and it took me like half an hour to download. So I instead just used my flat to download it in 2 minutes lol

Server remembers that you favorited them + the one you use, but they will have to be redownloaded. Worlds too, so after cleaning it, the loadings will be longer on first loading into the world...

On PC not really other then possible performance improvement on running the game through oculus home as opposed to SteamVR depending on your PC.
If we're talking about Oculus quest vs Steam VRChat then yes there is a difference, a substantial one at that.

@untold dome no, Oculus Home and Steam both have the same game. They both support desktop or vr, just the oculus home version does it without the SteamVR layer.

The Oculus Quest client (Quest is a VR “console”, not for pc) is the one that is different.

Because avatars aren't uploaded to some avatar mall or something.

Every public avatar you find in worlds is someone else's personal avatar that they chose to put on a pedestal and share with others if they click on it.

When you use an avatar, you're borrowing someone's else's blueprint ID for that avatar.

The game also has a big focus on visiting the Creators worlds to find the avatar. That's also the reason we only have 16 favorite slots. To encourage people to actually visit users worlds

And yeah the kinect isn't that great. You have to constantly be facing it for it to track you body on top of the tracking being subpar or bad, it does have the advantage of being cheap though.
