And yes swapping to a safe avatar when the client did not properly terminate on the previous session is super easy. No reason to worry about the technical implementation. It can be done. Someone make a canny and see if people vote on it.
(The technical implementation is just a hidden “what you’ll wear the next time you login” that is always set to the default safe avatar, except when you manually chose log out, it’s set to whatever you are wearing at the moment)

That sounds like a stupidly overcomplicated system that'll lead to anoying situations with misscommunications and eventual other exploitation options
a local detection of repeated crashes by output logs and then defaulting to not loading external avatars after lik 2-3 quick occuring continous crashes is way more sensemaking
And unlike your server solution, doesnt open another potential backdoor, server side traffic and complexity, and no possible annoyances from one time crashes like loosing that nice avatar you got of a public instance but sadly you crashing in the next room.
If the client crashed but loads up perfectly fine after it should not cause a reset, only if it's repeated crashes shortly after startup.
But that's just my 2 cents

I saw that too, but not enough info on it yet. The HP reverb already had one of the best screens in a consumer VR, but the tracking and software was all just wmr. If they're partnered with valve now, maybe it will have lighthouse support as well?

Did they remove the full body IK fixes they made some months back? Whenever I sit or lay down my viewpoint goes way off, which was not happening a while ago with some newly introduced IK fixes.
