Contact your ISP, restart your router, there’s often a multitude of reasons for connection issues that could be firewall related on your PC or much more @glass crow

@vast current Try going to your graphics card settings (Nvidia panel for example) and turning down graphics quality, also look into disabling avatars that are “very poor” etc.

#

Some avatars can cause major slowdown due to particle effects and complexity etc.

The main way you’re gonna see a performance increase is through a hardware upgrade though, especially regarding VR (if you’re using a VR setup) VR can be very taxing to low power machines and make it unplayable

I've seen the game run at 45fps on a laptop with a gtx 1050, 7700hq, and odyssey+. In vrlow, but with very poor shown. The only thing that caused problems was my brother's friend who had an avatar with like 80mats and 400k poly.

The modded "clients" are normally just using the public API so you can probably just use that to change someone's avatar, it's quite funny because it accepts a lot of things it doesn't. e.g. you can just change the IDs in the API call and do things you'd expect not to work, e.g. I could create a public link to (someone elses') private world and also create the session in someone else's name. Not sure why it's like that.

I tested the built-in as well as my earphone mic. The built in sounds fine, the earphone one sounds a bit crackly if I hold it really close to my mouth, but decent if its further away.

I’ll have to take a deeper look at the SDK as soon as I get my permissions, it kinda upset me how you have to be a certain rank to be able to contribute but I can see why it’s in place, I just wish there was a way to get permissions to upload without actually playing, I’m not too big on playing VRChat but totally into generating content for others, if that makes sense.

The last platform I created content for me netted me around 3.6K members on my discord server, that I’d like to turn into a server for my VRChat Content, I’m more used to creating things than actually playing other peoples things.

alot of us can only afford low grade laptops for vrc. my dell laptop has an intel core i3 7th gen processor and it runs the game like shit but my hp has a ryzen 5 processor and runs it better but still dies when theres an instance that is suppose to only have 18 people but it has 40 instead

@turbid lotus It's not based strictly on hour counts. To upload your own content you have to be using a VRChat account and have a trust rank of New User or higher. You get that by making friends and hanging out in public worlds, and avoiding being muted/blocked/kicked.

A friend told me he benefitted from using more than 16 GB RAM when it comes to VRC. From my understanding you don't really need more than 16 for anything when it comes to gaming today. Why would it help with VRC? Opinions on this?

Except when it comes to multicore CPUs, as VRC doesn't make extensive use of multithreading. It does, but not in a way it can currently parallelize massive amounts of the workload.
