It's possible to accidentally upload an avatar you have difficulty getting out of because you can't see the menu. This button is useful for many things, and has been needed for awhile.

Events are a little bit awkward to manage in VRC as there's no internal system to help with them.
Check out the VRC Events discord (it's pinned in #events) which has a list of events and how to join them when they're on and other info.

@patent quail Becoming verified by the trust system is based on reaching a not time based trust score, which's exact algorithm is unknown to prevent exploitation.

You presumably need to play the game in a normal manner with your VRChat account, walking around, meeting people and also making some friends. Idling won't help.
According to many responses in this discord, a rough estimate would be 20-40 hours, but big exceptions are possible.

Make sure you are not using a steam or oculus account and continue playing the game until you get a notification or e-mail.

The main minor difference between running the game via Oculus or via Steam, is that if you're playing on an Oculus headset you'll get better performance on their launcher due to to not having to run both VR operating systems at once.

#

You'll lose out on the ability to use Steam-VR plugins like "Advanced Settings", but if you're not using full body then you likely don't have as much use for them.

#

Based on previous conversations with a guy who had literally the exact same CPU+GPU as me, but him using Rift and me on Vive, the performance bonus from using the Oculus client is reasonably significant for Rift users.

#

He claimed that VRC was borderline unplayable for him, reporting much lower FPS numbers than I got, whilst being forced to use both Steam-VR and the Oculus Client together, but much better when running only one.
Meanwhile I was plenty fine whilst only needing to run Steam for my Vive, despite having identical hardware.

It's not so much that Oculus Client improves performance, but more that running two VR-OS at the same time is obviously worse for it.

#

Oculus headsets force you to use their client at all times, even if playing Steam games, and thus incur a performance cost for doing so.

#

So if a game gives you the option of using the Oculus client directly without re-purchasing the game, it's generally helpful.

i just had the strangest thing happen, I'm new to vr and most my time on vr has just been watching YouTube in vr so far to get use to it and i played this game a few minutes ago called "the vr museum of fine arts" and i was looking at all the art and it was fine then i stepped into the elevator and could feel the elevator move irl and it tripped me out, feeling alittle motion sick rn im guessing that's normal for the first time.

Ginger (the root crop) is a great boost to help overcome nausea brought on by motion sickness. It’s all natural, healthy and almost always works. As @inner cape mentioned; Don’t push yourself too hard too fast.

@amber rivet Again, ginger is your friend. Ever been sick before? Chances are (obviously this varies) you’ve had ginger ale and crackers to help settle your stomach. For extreme cases of nausea, you’ll want to either eat the ginger in bite size pieces raw, mix ginger powder in with 8oz water or take ginger pills (found in a store with a vitamin section). Try to start out slow. 30 mins per session for a day, then increase it by 30 minutes each day moving forward. Eventually you’ll be a VR vet.

@onyx compass Safe mode is a hidden safety settings preset. Just go to safety settings and put it back on other preset. If you had custom, you will have to set it again, because safe mode works by setting safety to custom and restricting everything in the game for every user rank.

Literally every single thing needs to be closed. All background apps, foreground app, hubs, everythings. Your taskbar area should only show Window defender, network, sound, and maybe your GPU control panel icons.

Yes, depends on the kind of screen blackout though. Is it a flicker, a total blackout, or a partial frozen image (moving your head shows the black border and a upside mirror image behind you)?

Hardware includes USB dropout caused by CPU load. This would cause the entire Oculus runtime to crash out as you described

what happends is for example i run boneworks : something render heavy shops up , the screen on my oculus goes black for 1 sec , and show orange light inside , then goes back to white , on the oculus app it says display port not connected for a few secs and turn back on

So Oculus server crashed, right? That's because of your HW. The same issue could happen on any VR runtime if it's your GPU that is the root of the issue.

So that's narrow it to be more likely your PSU. Or you just got unlucky and picked up two different GPUs with meager DP drivers (the chip that powers a cable, not the software drivers)

Royality, you should be okay with that PSU. Though PSUs are often a cheaped out component in diy and prebuilts alike, so you could just have a failing PSU. It's hard to say without more diagnosis.

Just keep in mind the overlay will reduce CPU load of the running VR app. You can only monitor vrchat CPU load using a wmr slate.

The processes of interest are dwm.exe if you've got a desktop slate open, umdf....exe for the O+ drivers, and a few svchosts for tracking. As well as vrchat.exe and vrserver.exe (steamvr).
