It’s safe to upgrade your projects now, just remember that downgrading isn’t supported and will break the project, so either back then up or realize no one will see your avatar updates until 2018 is live. (Your changes will only be seen on beta, vrc keeps your most recent 2017 upload for live)

For example it has a dynamic bone script on a root of each of 2 long hair strands. Each hair strand has 8 bones. I think it would be more optimal for them to have for example 4 bones instead.

what i noticed with dyn bones and a root bone for hair/skirts is that you get spiderleg movement ... so i rather put the root on the 2nd bone of each chain (means 6-12 dyn scripts sometimes but also 7-13 less bones it calculates)

Well there are 2 ways to go about it: You either go in VRChat and search in Avatar Worlds, or make one yourself by using Zbrush, Blender and Unity.
You can also have one commissioned by a modeler as well, for that just search for the discord server 'VRC Traders' in the #community-servers-old channel.

It's not "double click a prefab". It's getting all the files to them, getting them to download and install the right version of Unity, create a new project, install the VRChat SDK, import the model. Fix anything that didn't transfer for whatever reason. Start the upload process, correct all the details for upload, then upload it.

One of the major issues I see with VR chat is that game play inevitably devolves into a bunch of idiots trying to out attention whore each other infront of a mirror while no actual chatting takes place. I can't be the only one who wants activities to do WITH someone. There are VERY few maps like this. (because the devs decided to leave all the dev-ing to the players) Does anyone know of any activity oriented maps that you feel deserve more attention?
That's one reason many seem to stay in friends+ instances.
They find people they click with and do things together that aren't in typical public mirror chat stuff

The more shaders they have, the more arrogant they sound, the more they mention the rank system or criticise the rules, etc. the higher are the chances of them being a crasher. Opt into the particle limit filter and use safety to hide their shaders and particles, and 99% of them will be helpless against you
