Well, in Paci's case, the avatar is medium if you enable the dynbone limit (with disabled settings)

The Vive and index are inside out tracked... But through infrared sensors. The light houses send out waves of light, and the headset and controllers see that and track it's own position based on that. It's tracked from the inside, out with external markers

The rift CV1 is outside in with external sensors tracking the light from the headset and controllers.

Nolo is more like the trackers and lighthouse. It works almost the same wirh a base station and all.

KAT works by sensing movement that you picked up your foot, and it tells the program to pick up your foot. Like it says in the Kickstarter, it can track basic movements like picking up your foot, or swinging witb 3 of those trackers, but 5 would be required for crouching or stuff like that.

Vive developed trackers that were ment for other things, but some develpers decided to use them for full body.
In the big scale of thing, there isn't really a proper full body solution, and it's all still in the works.

You can use a mixed settup with the Oculus using Vive trackers and a base station, or other solutions

Plus even if that was a thing, you'd need access to the avatar itself in Unity, which you don't as you're not the author.

Starting the game via a browser link just starts it the same as normal, so that shouldn't have any effect. It doesn't launch "in" the browser or anything like that.

It's worth making and merging an official VRC account anyway, but that won't be related to your current issue.

The first sentence is honestly completely wrong.

To slow CPU's are very often an issue with audio getting stuttery simply due to overload.
And a soundcard just as well can cause problem with audio.

Especially USB Interfaces can very quickly can develope a choppyness with high CPU loads.

For sure this one sounds like a software issue, but generally saying audio issues are never a component problem is so off. (And with the status you set, YOU SHOULD KNOW)

Yep, anything that requires a constant time can get awful if bandwidth dips and CPU load influences that. Audio I/O and controller input being prime examples. Audio over iffy extension cables is pleasant to hear /s.

Is anything going to be done about the whole "people changing into any avatar marked as public" client mod issue? It seems prolific now, everyone and their mother is using it.

Most people using it claim "Oh, I'm only using public avatars" but just because an avatar is marked as public, it doesn't mean it's actually a public avatar. If you author an avatar for someone and upload it to your account (so you can maintain it going forward) it has to be "public" for them to clone it from you, but that doesn't mean it's actually a "for public use" avatar.
