@glacial storm So, you're baiscally trying to use VRChat as an alternative to Facerig from what I understand. VRChat's face expressions are all hardcoded into each avatar as static animations bound to hand gesture animations done either by actual gestures on Oculus/Index controllers, or sectors on the circular touchpads of other controllers. There may be a way to emulate the input of Vive controllers and the touchpads through external programs into SteamVR based on input from a program looking at your webcam, but it'd be a pain in the rear, and would be far from being as expressive as Facerig or other similar VTuber solutions.

VRChat is very much a social app first, and can be made to work as a recording studio through some trickery.

Probably just a singleplayer scene in unity, which could be ported to a vrchat world. Whether they would, I doubt it. There isn't much of a reason to use vrchat unless you want non-local multiplayer when it comes to vtubers.

I'm pretty sure I deleted people I actually enjoyed hanging out with when I removed a bunch of inactives a month back. I couldn't tell who had defriended me, who changed names, and if they were just inactive for the past few months or actually gone from the game.

I personally don't limit particles at all, just having the limiter will disable playerlocal particle collision

It won't protect against anyone that decides to spawn a million particles at once, killing the world, but that happens very rarely in my experience

I'd say a good limit for particles would be dependant on many factors.. like how many people you have active in your session for one, also how trustworthy they are.. obviously that matters, but overall i used to go with 1k particles and no more.

It all depends.. on scale mostly, like weather systems start and end via size.. done with particles looks nice, but due to example.. snowing.. then a release of about 200 particles every few mins isnt bad looking.. but its more of a blip, like a hole.. rather than constant snow.. so a thousand again depending on world size.. just seemed to flow better for me.

I've never been one for over the top fx.. not my thing, but with weather systems.. particles belong.

Hey all, The LPD is not dead at all. Yes this is a step back to lose the server but we will recover. We still have a fantastic community full of great people. I've made beer its better when its made by you.. atleast you know what goes into it.. fermentation is about a week in pitch blackness good temp of 16c to 24c max.. non carbonated is better.. goes to you head a dam lot quicker to and no gas at all

@pure hemlock People forget that that only works if you already have a bit friends list though. "Just stay in friends+" doesn't work for people with 20 friends. Now that I have a decent amount, it goes up fast. I went into a labs instance to test something yesterday (which is friends+ technically) and after a short while there were 18 people in there, either friends or friends of friends.

Oh yes. There are things that can get exciting from time to time. Like Vket is the most exciting thing that's happened in VRC in a long long time. Plenty of people with the know-how to make great things are just waiting until they're given the tools they need in order to create. So it's a bit slow right now.
