There's a few places where the UI had some issues, but those have been long solved.

Unity only allows unloading of assets in a few situations, and if you sit in the same world for a long time with people loading new avatars every X seconds, you're going to accrue a good bit of cruft.
You can solve that by swapping worlds, sometimes a few times. That will clear unused assets.
Unfortunately due to Unity's limitations there's not much way around that. As far as I know (and I'm no Unity engineer, but i'm parroting people who are) you cannot unload bundles unless you change scenes

All I can say to anyone considering a VR headset is to not buy the S since the Quest gets Oculus Link this month and later gets hand/finger tracking using just its own cameras. They sadly seemed to have given up on the Rift S already.

Firstly, the Rift S is a lot lighter and comfier than the Quest. Secondly the Rift S is higher resolution than the Quest (as Quest has poor screen door and the OLED is Pentile), the finger tracking is useless (as anyone that has used finger tracking before in the past will confirm). The Link will allow you to use the Quest as a PCVR headset BUT it will use compressed video to do so, at lower than native resolution and still use fixed foveated rendering (i.e. everything outside the centre of your vision is blurred/pixelated). Even Carmac himself said that the Rift S provides the superior PC experience.

Quest does not have bad OLED, and it isn't has horrible as you keep describing it every time Enve. If Quest was that damn horrible, so many people wouldn't get it. Without the quest, so many people wouldn't had find out about VRCHAT. And most people with Quest for first time vr, plan to upgrade in the future. It brings people who are interested in vr for first time who can't afford a pc or a pc vr, to upgrade! I've had it for 6 months now and fully will upgrade next month and I don't regret my choice, so Enverex stop being so negative about the damn Quest.

It uses pentile OLED which makes the screen door and the sub-pixels very visible. I'm not sure why you're trying to hide/downplay that. I own a Quest, you're not talking to someone making guesses here.

@faint skiff Everything I said in terms of future features is true, I'm just not 100% sure on details since I haven't heard much about the finger tracking. As for the image being compressed from the few articles I've read no one could tell the difference at all (that could be a lie of course, I wouldn't know if they were paid). As for Rift S being given up on that system was already confirmed the last I checked to not be getting the finger tracking (which apparently sucks according to you). On a side note, I have about 4 friends now who have built a PC and have gotten an S or are waiting for the Quest link based on their limited experience in the Quest who wanted more so I'd say the Quest is a nice gateway drug into high end VR. Lol

I think my rift S purchase was yet another good decision in VR after Lenovo explorer.
From all the wmrs, explorer was the most comfortable and had the best tracking from the bunch in the wmr market.

People commonly referring to it by the wrong name isn't a good reason to follow suit 😉 The position of the headset to the controllers has no bearing on whether it's inside out or outside in. That issue stems from the fact that in the inside out implementation of those headsets is on the headset itself.
The controllers track themselves (making them inside out) with lighthouse systems where as with the Rift, the headset tries to track them, hence the headset needing line of sight.

The definition of inside out or outside in is based on who's doing the tracking. With the original rift, the cameras (which are on the outside of the hardware) did the tracking, hence outside in. With the Rift S, the headset does the tracking, so it's inside out. With lighthouse systems, the lighthouses aren't actually doing the tracking, the devices themselves still do the tracking, thus it's still inside out.
