When I was considering buying a headset I first had to think do I ever gonna need fbt. I knew I didn't want to dance or wear female avatars and spread my legs before strangers so I thought I don't need it. Only thing I wanted to do in game that requires fbt was to look behind me in the mirror so I could see back of my avatar but going to mmd dance world did the trick
There may be some things you would like to do yourself that require full body tracking which is why I said you need to answer this yourself
Other things this could be used for is excercises where tracking entire body is needed or playing on a stage / role playing where you could use your legs to kick for example
If you are not sure whether you would like to have fbt set you can buy Vive or Index and upgrade later if needed

Just letting you know that I Do fullbody tracking with nolo and also using a 3rd oculus controller as a waist
so I have better waist control
People who have used the nolo previously have had said that the nolo is trash but I'm here to show you if u set it up correctly you can get ur tracking to be very Good
I'm also doing this so people with either using a headset not from valve or whatever can still do fullbody but without vive stuff

The quest can do PCVR now, but it still isn't quite as good. It's great as like an all around headset. But for a better PCVR experience, the S still wins

It's not a direct feed though like other PCVR. It encodes and streams the video over a USB, so the video is compressed and not quite as good as the Rift S which is running directly from your GPU. It works really well, but reviews say it's still a bit behind the S experience

Right now there's huge hype for the Quest because of it, and many are saying "the S is dead". But the hype will pass and people will listen to reviewers more who are all saying, it's excellent, even better than the CV1 rift at some things. I doubt it, if it's limited to the quest. The reason the quest can have hand tracking is because of the onboard CPU. From what I understand, the cable for the Rift S doesn't have enough bandwidth to send all the tracking data, video, power and have hand tracking on top of that. Where as the quest snapdragon has something onboard that works really well at computing that

Hand tracking lacks the ability to move, so I wouldn't expect it to be implemented. It's why the Leap Motion is useless in VRChat despite basically perfect hand tracking

Also I read the Quest saw the hand tracking just outside the field of view. So it wouldn't work very well for your hands say by your hips which is where mine end up a lot unless I'm doing something like talking or dancing.

@static bear it's not 100% time based so AFK does not equal free ranks. whether you just want an avatar uploaded or want to get to trusted user, everyone ranks up the same way: playing the game. friending people, visiting different worlds, actually spending time in some places here and there as well as talking to people...nobody except for the person who made the ranking system actually knows how it works, and it's an intentionally guarded secret that seems to reward actually playing the game and, ykno, socializing.

Another thing, Is to just see if the instance they are in dies somehow, or they are kicked from the instance. Kicking them will be your best bet

You could make a light on the camera at a specific angle, and make a shader read light from only that angle, and other things like that. But lights are laggy so it's a poor solution

I made my own version, but with stencils. It's light, but stencils are limited to 256 combinations I believe. It also requires placing two 1 kilometer squares on both the avatars

I find it unacceptable that VRChat lately has been filled with a number of people who are using clients that give your IP address to them, and openly brag about DDoSing/booting people. Particularly when they go to public places like The PUG and legitimately boot people who complain about their loud/obnoxious avatars that spam the screen using filters. I literally had my own router DDoSed by someone after a statement where someone's AV was making the menu inaccessable. Why is it that the only statement towards this is "use a VPN"?
There needs to be far more moderation, as this has been a ongoing problem since I started playing VRChat two years ago. There's no real in-game moderation in public areas to deal with this kind of nonsense.

100+ hrs in a single instance and a few things have broken already like voice support (cant hear people who joined in after passing the ~40 hours mark, IK is looking laggy for those who are in for too long and the time-since-instance-join timers on several avatars show weird values like https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/615293765237604363/627955470375583744/unknown.png) but so far we havent had a single person time out or otherwise disconnect due to server problems. thanks vrchat sysadmins <3

Because people complain often about the most insane things and i can for sure find a group of users who would be legit unhappy they cant run an instance for 100+ hours without any flaws

How well does the game handle player size? Would arm movements work just as well on something akin to the Hulk as a tiny anime girl?
I'm pretty tall in real life, but I'd rather not walk around in a gorilla pose in order for my arms not to clip through my body.

It will handle arm movement of avatars of any size, but you may find that you can't extend avatars arms fully or they extend fully before your real arms while your point of view is aligned with your avatar
Torso length to arm length relation is more important than avatars height though. If it is similar to yours it should be alright

tbh i personally think that making the vket3, or in that context pretty much everything, time limited, is a pretty bad idea since very often people with money to buy the content have also limited time. i'd probably consider buying stuff that i like if i ever had the chance to see the content before it was taken down again :c

@vocal shard Amount of custom avatars really depends on your definition of 'custom'. Completely modelled from scratch? Not many. Edits of provided bases online (such as MMD avatars)? Fair amount. Myself and most friends I know use MMDs clothed and textured from a base body. Custom hair, even animal ears. I'd pipe something like that as 'custom' since it's unique in its own way and a lot of time and effort goes into a custom MMD. (Try weightpainting a long dress to work with dynamic bones and not break. Fun.)
