got ddosd for making fun of a crasher group because i was recording...can anyone explain to me why the server would choose to expose all of its client's ips to each other? there is absolutely no reason that this should happen in game development...or anything where a dedicated server is involved. this is the only game ive heard of that does this. this would be like if you connected to twitch chat and every other user in twitch chat had access to your ip.

To get everything right you should be setting your height correctly in VRChat's settings, then swap out and back into the avatar.

Not nessecarily, there's some weird calculations to how that's set. They generally align with human proportions but each person is different so aligning them to your own may send you off one side or the other compared to VRChat's system.

What I think it does is it takes your real user height and assumes your wingspan, either from a formula or a lookup table. Then scales the world until your currently worn avatar has that wingspan. The scaling is done from view position as origin. The floor ends up wherever due to the scaling

Literally no avatars work properly with the in-game height gauge. Even the stock avatars. I have to set myself like 4" shorter else they're all crouching all the time.
I assume it's due to some head height / arm length calculation that cannot universally (for everyone) be correct.

So something I've seen a few times now - is anything being worked on to stop people taking out entire instances? They'll do something (normally after doing some eyerape shader style nonsense which works despite custom anims being off) and from that point onwards the instance drops down to almost no performance and everyone has to leave.

Since one was weird semi-hallucinations of 2D stuff going 3D, and the other was hallucinations of chaperone bounds if I walked near walls.

I can only see with one eye properly (like 4% with one) and after some experiences like a proper 3D movie that worked or VR my eyes feel 'fake' and take time to readjust to function during those experiences and right after

I love VR .. i love vidéo games .. iam a gamer sinces a bunch of years .. but do I think VR have absolutly no side effect on brains ? Well i wouldnt play 12hours of vr a day . Thats my opinion you do what you want and thats why I said " not your mom"

The study only states that VR might be bad since it's tricking your brain in a sense. The beginning part on endorphins has nothing to do with VR as that's just general endorphin overdose stuff

VR hasn't had enough popular use to have many conclusive studies done on it yet.
There's definitely some issues, like the vergence-accomodation problem and that's definitely putting some strain on our eyes, but that's more of a physical thing than if prologned VR use has significant (and problem causing) on brain function itself.

As long as the lenses match your IPD and are well made, and the HMD is fit properly it shouldn't be too bad.

@rigid crescent for eyes i would say its like a big screen .. for my personal experience i cant handle more than an hour in VR .. my eyes dont handle it then i got headach

Hm, if it's giving you a headache then it's either incorrectly set IPD, or the Quest's low refresh rate

@snow wadi I don't know what mine is. What's more weird is I can set it from one extreme to the other and I don't see or feel any difference at all. It's a bit weird.
AFAIK when I measure it it was around 63 but that doesn't make any difference for me.

Yeah I've never measured and I don't feel a difference going through the vive range, should probably check that out

My IPD is somewhere around 64-65, but I only feel discomfort if I go too far apart, going as close as possible doesn't make it feel any better or worse, just slight reduction in horizontal FOV.

I’ve used a Quest and was shocked at how sharp it is and the Rift S screen is supposedly even better. Anyone who scoffs at the Rift S is bandwagoning or memeing.

Its lack of mechical IPD is a legitimate problem for anyone outside the range though, and there's no way around that.

@slim birch It's OLED so it has better blacks, but it's technically lower res than the Rift S screen due to shared subpixels (because of the pentile pixel arrangement). It's also lower refresh.
