Anyone here using WMR? I ddnt played for few weeks on vr. And idk if its any update with SteamVR or Windows, but the controls i used to have in vrchat, now work different. And kinda messy, i try different configurations, but i just cant make it work like it used to. I used to have the dpad to "click" for emotes, and the joysticks to move, i can still move with the joysticks, but it kinda try to trigger my emotes at times, and now the emotes trigger when i touch the dpads not when i "click" them :/

I use wmr. I haven't had that problem, the configuration was working fine for me last night. Check vrchat settings to see if maybe the Vive advanced controlls option changed

I believe the markers are tied to the bandwidth of the one who is drawing, rather than your own bandwidth. If you have a good connection, you can draw smooth, and everyone else will see it smooth.

The biggest problem with network IK is that you could draw perfectly and others would just see garbage

And because there is no cap of how often the info gets send locally as well, your calculating it live and not sending it. Its smooth as hec for you

I just went these and the game just strobed the SteamVR game logo because it was struggling so much. The controls showed I was getting 11fps and weirdly enough IMMEDIATELY got a friend invite from someone with garbage characters for their name as soon as I got there.

well there's a profiler in unity that determines this stuff, there's even a video showing the impact that dynamic bone transforms have on it

So I'd guess that you can test them one by one. find out the impact of the most impacted thing is, probably transforms or collisions, then compare everything to that.

So see how many polys it takes to reach the same profiler stats as X dynamic bones, etc

@faint skiff needs to be in the right format. And yeah you will sort of lose everything. The only thing mixamo fixes is the basic bones. Everything else like the hair or any extra clothes bones that you want, you may have to make bones for them manually.

I guess, Someone might have reported you for using "very poor" models (those models that can cause crashes to other vrchat players and causing them to disconnect)
I have not much clues on how to fix this.... maybe try to stay in-game and not scream around. use low poly models for a while when playing vrchat (avatars that wont crash/disconnect other vrchat players)...

I mean i've seen a lot of your issues and a lot of them are just moving too quickly or skipping steps

due to moving too quickly, or just forgetting i guess

It's just there's all these little gotchas that ruin everything. So in the previous instance, something screwed up the weight painting, but there's no way to fix it and rolling back would lose 6 hours of work or more (and I've tried fixing it myself to zero avail). Then this new one now, one tris got moved at some point, so EVERYTHING past that point is lost because all the shapekeys are now broken.

By the time I actually upload something else, I'm going to be so salty and agitated that I'll hate the game and never want to touch it again.

well for your weight painting example, do you test stuff as you go? it seems liek you would've noticed after one or two strokes of weight painting that there was an issue if you just tested it

and don't edit on a shape key, that's an easy one

you wouldnt have to undo work if you test as you go, youd know 5 mintues in there's a problem

I wasn't doing any weight painting myself, I only noticed when it was messed up in game. Something changed the weight painting of the upper torso at some point (I'm not sure what or why)

your model would be beyond simple if you weren't trying to basically do all the more advanced stuff at once

swap a head, add the tail, wings, etc. ok you have something usable

then focus on other things one by one instead of learning them as you go on your first model

youre weight painting, weight painting isnt simple for beginners by any means

adding and removing parts is what's simple

texture editing, adding/removing parts, creating blendshapes, etc

No, I wasn't weight painting. The weight painting screwed itself up at some point. The weight painting I was doing was trying to fix that mess.

i finally have my own HMD and i spent my first few hours in VR in VRChat. it's awesome to have already met so many friendly people, even while i was just a mute the whole time lol. and i gotta say, i was amazed that sitting in one of those elevator rides in someone's world somehow felt so real that my whole body felt as if it was truly moving. i could only handle it for so long before i started feeling sick, but it was awesome! i love this place already!
