@misty turret it's still being worked on though. In the canny, they marked a recent post in progress for layering the performance system. For example if you disable dynamic bones, then the performance system won't count a user's dynamic bones for the performance ranking system

When I try to erase them back to blue all the sudden the shoulders are now painting them orange? Usually I will paint and flip between weight paint mode and edit mode and select verts that accidentally get painted and just click "remove" from the vertex group I don't want them in.
Had an issue like that last night where I painted the leg to the bottom of my character's chin. 🤣

@vocal shard keep in mind if you have a public avatar, it can be cloned. Disabling your cloning is basically the honor system. It stops easy cloning but it’s still a public avatar and people have every right to use it. Upload private avatars if you don’t want this to happen.

As it stands currently you’re incentivized to push all of your skinned meshes into one single skinned mesh and hide any unneeded parts either by scaling bones to zero or hiding the geometry with shape keys
Even if that means putting large parts of your avatar scaled to zero that would have previously just been disabled

It does have sensors, anyone saying it doesn't is a liar. The sensors are all onboard the HMD itself. That said, CV-based inside-out tracked HMDs tend to have very easy setup.

Steam VR is trash.
Had that issue amongst other things like gamma not displaying properly and night mode not working. They suck at updates and a lot of times things break even worse every steam VR patch for oculus.
Best bet is to completely wipe it from your pc and maybe even try rolling back steam VR versions.

My main concern was having about a 5x5foot (1.5x1.5meter) play area and not wanting to set up external sensors. But after talking to a few people they told me not to get the Quest that I should get the Rift S and I verified my laptop is indeed strong enough for everything. Thanks for the advise though! Still very new to all of this so I’ll accept any knowledge you’ve got :3
