You need a VRChat account instead of Steam and I believe you just hang out in worlds, add people, and just play the game and you'll rank up eventually
If you go into Vrchat and settings there should be an option to 'upgrade account' which will allow you to make a VRchat account and still keep everything like friends/avatars/worlds. It'll just transfer to your VRChat account so basically linking

I believe from the test video they showed a few months ago, they were working with the knuckles. They snapped to the gestures similar to rift touch, using real hand gesture positions, but it didn't have full finger tracking yet. Although i hope they do add that. They have been working with the knuckles, so let's hope

Another big one is shaders. Some people really don't like using someone else's work. Even if it goes un noticed by most.
Amplify and Shaderfourge tutorials basically made me love VRChat even more.
Iv'e made really cool surface shaders for my models that would have otherwise looked bland and uninteresting if it were something everyone else used.
Which being unique sometimes is worth the extra work. It add's to the hobbyist aspect of the game. Sorta like how people spend hours in any other character creation engine in any other game except a bit more complicated as it deals with some code.
If I said I haven't inspired anyone I would probably be lying. Countless people have inspired me to do the exact thing I am doing right now. Its really just about making cool stuff for people to enjoy at this point for me.
That's kinda why I feel VRChat is more about the art.

I find keeping the safety setting on Normal is good too. Or Maximum on a really weird world.
Turn it to off only if you want to see all the really bad shaders, etc. It doesn't fix bad people,but it helps with getting more than 2fps on servers with a lot of people with bad models.

Oh, there's a really nice cabin like that. It's also the first place I experienced someone who sounded like a child running around asking if I was a trap. So there's that. :D
(You can play it in a private group or just world-hop until you find a non crappy copy, I found out.)

VR-Chat is a great big branching tree/web of friend groups. You've just got to find the right people, and sooner or later you'll find a good place and barely see the rest.
Honestly the bigger problem I've found, is having to pick and choose who to visit and who to spend time with. There's only so much time in the day, and a lot of great people.

I mean yeah Public rooms can quite cancerous due to folks trolling with the usual things but I mange to be part of Hip Hop discord that I'm in thanks to public rooms and now I know how to play music though VRChat.
Vrchat can be fun with friends tho.

Well, I more meant that I find it hard to find a bit of time to everyone I want to. Go to see one, and end up missing the window to hang out with two others.
But I do also know what you mean there too, Barta.
Fortunately that's one of the things that VR-Chat is very convenient for though, in that you're either logged into the game or you're not, and people are very accustomed to that.
