Whenever I'd log into an alt for testing on the same account changing the settings like volume on one would affect the other once I opened the settings on the other acount

I think the issue is that your main argument is "What if a thing not meant to be shared is shared". If I have an avatar meant only for friends, I'll tell my friends to make sure they don't share it.

Yeah my only issue with pedestal only ones are people jsut setting their whole world to it, but I guess they don't know it hurts them more in the longrun, so theyre just pre-emptively shooting themselves in the foot.

The worst I have seen is you get logged out. Then you get back on your feet, type in your username and password again and find a different room to go to that doesn't have annoying people in it.

put it in a notepad for fast copy paste access if it's happening a lot... but then it's probably someone on your friends list that's following you around which instance you are in etc

yes logouts can happen outside the scope of the safety system. that's unfortunate but it's not very hard to log in again. use that as a hint to find another world to hang out in. I've only had the logout thing happen to me twice in my time on vrchat (and it was in the same room both times) and I do visit public worlds.
