I knew a friend who got on and enjoyed the game so much the, actually thought they were a anime girl, but he was not. He stayed on going to world giving head pats, and acted like a girl muted himself and evolved into something I never seen before, I was amazed by the way he developed into his character he told me he forgot who he was, and thought the VR, world of vrchat was his home, and when someone told him it was not he would freak, out and yell at them like they were crazy, scream at the top of his lungs, that he was here and nobody could tell him otherwise.

@torn pine highly highly unsupported but Steamplay/proton does work on linux under limited conditions (tested under Ubuntu 16.04): many larger worlds, including the Pug, will freeze when loading. framerates are worse and steamvr tracking seems to stutter for me (the stutters happen outside vrchat too). Some avatars with particularly rough geometry shaders appear to crash X and steamvr entirely. If your goal is to play with your friend, there are lots of worlds which do work nicely so you might be in luck there. Text is blank by default so I recommend the latest beta version of proton (there is a dropdown in steamplay settings in the main steam settings window) because it fixes text rendering. Feel free to message me if you run into trouble
The only avatar I had which fails to load is a private test avatar I uploaded for 2017. I haven't yet encountered any avatars in public worlds which break it even the crazy spammy ones... but if it's due to 2017 this could all change as people update. YMMV

Seems to be for some people yes. Others just have way more lag than usual making their FBT just constantly reset itself in the eyes of other people.

My friend has VR, and regardless of how they hold their arms out, every few seconds, the game acts like they don't have very and the arms move back down to their side. This happened before the update, it happens with any avatars they try, including default ones, everyone sees it but them. Their arms stay in front of their view even when they change positions for everyone else. Please help.

@steep pagoda That's a surprisingly big change to fix that-- we have to change the root of the IK/animation I believe (may be wrong)
@drowsy steeple That happens to me when my cat bumps my mouse while I'm in VR and have VRC focused.
So.. tell your friend not to have VRC in focus while you're in VR. Might help a bit.

It's a weird edit, but apparently you can fix the viewpoint issue by making the neck bone extremely small and reweighting to the head and chest

@stiff tree that happens if you fail to join the instance for some reason (like instance master doesn't reply). Since you can use voice, it is sometimes possible for another player to drop a portal to the same world in front of you and you walk forward straight until you go into the portal
