@void crag you just need to play the game. There's not a set time that we know of. The general idea is that exploring worlds and adding friends makes you get access faster. I believe the average time it takes is about 20 hours of active gameplay, but I can vary drastically person to person

Avatar menu to change avatars, leftclick to pick up things, rightclick to drop or hold rightclick to throw. You can set your height in the settings. Disable "Personal space" in the settings under Comfort and Safety so that you can get headpats (with the setting, everything disappears if it gets too close to your view)
That's about what I remember that the tutorial teaches you, or should teach you. But it has been like 10 months

VRChat doesn't allow custom scripting because of the huge security risk it would be, so you're limited to anything that's part of the Unity Standard Assets, or a number of whitelisted components. There's also the VRChat SDK's triggers for stuff.

I'm pretty sure this is also due to the lack of presence in the world, since being in VR you're practically there, rather than watching things through a window from a distance.
