Hmm. I was under the impression WMR tracking uses it's own infra-red light rather than relying on visual spectrum, so assumed that regular room lighting shouldn't matter.
That's purely my assumption though, not actual knowledge, so don't take it as such.

i havent had problems with lighting. Its just tracking issues. Because the LED tracking isnt the only way of tracking in the controllers

Think of it like this. In a dark room, it's only getting half the info. It is getting the info of their positions in relation to themselves, but not to the headset or the room.
The cameras see the room in 3d, and place the controllers based on that. If the room is dark, it cannot properly map out the room and it won't know the controller location. They also aren't infrared.

Im not sure, the whole social ranking system is going to create a social divide no matter which ranks you remove or keep. Adding a created by date would probably do the same thing and would be unfair to newer users that have spent hours playing within the past month or so (no matter how well it's hidden people will still look and discriminate). The badge system to reward a player for a certain goal is a great idea. I'm not sure if this would be implemented at some point though as it would surely cause a fuss again.
I would have been in favour of a simple tag that would have rewarded people that really did deserved it using a much more refined algorithm. Then there wouldn't be any need to dabble with social rankings any longer
