Looping the firing part seems like it should be pretty easy. Dunno how to have the end part play when a gesture finishes, though that wouldn't be essential I guess.

At the moment I've decided to keep it to one gesture, opting to do without the end part, and just extending the sound a little without looping. I added a click that fades in to warn me when the sound is about to end.

Alternatively, I figure I could maybe do something with the max particle setting, or maybe burst emission, to work like an ammo count that cuts off automatically, but that seems like it might be awkward.
Actually, no, that's seeming like a way better option. Experiments continue. 😃

Just completed the first proper test, and it's came out awesome.

Now just got to copy the gun to both arms, and wait to be able to show it off to some friends.

Not the kind of thing I can take to public worlds to show off unfortunately. Bit too big and explosive.

In the end I set the particles to not loop, and matched their duration and delay to the audio. Gets me 1.6 seconds of warning spool before accidentally letting of shots, and 11 seconds of ammo before resetting the gesture, which is plenty enough time. Works really well, and keeps the other gestures free for different effects. I'm proud of my progress.

You presumably need to play the game in a normal manner with your VRChat account, walking around, meeting people and also making some friends. Idling won't help.
According to many responses in this discord, a rough estimate would be ** 20-40 hours**, but big exceptions are possible.

Make sure you are not using a steam account because those can not be verified and continue playing the game until you get a notification or e-mail.

In fact moving from Unity5.6 to Unity 2017/2018 would be a hard thing since assetbundles (avatars/worlds files) are not compatible (and not compatible with other platforms too, like osx, linux or android)
Also it's sad that some of the most upvoted requests aren't implemented yet (most of the 300+ not planned requests use to be unofficially done by someone else, but they got banned for doing that)

No, you can use the menu with just one controller.

It switches into a different mode if you only have one.

The initial menu just sits in place rather than following your hand, the same way as the social/avatar/world menus do.

And thus lets you use the same controller to select stuff.
