I'm not sure it's Unity at fault. An old game called From the Depths was built before this version of unity existed, and used multithreading just fine.

I can't really manipulate my avatar directly in Unity anyway. I screwed something up during the process and now the model is far away and any attempts to zoom in will result in a blurry/pixelated model. Clicking on anything in the hierarchy doesn't make anything become outlined.

And I think full body tracking is a much smaller portion of the game's community than you think it is. Most of the players are desktop users, and a subset of that population has VR, and only a subset of that population has full body tracking because it's expensive and you can only use it with VRChat right now

It's a title, and as it stands, the game is incredibly unoptimized and a pretty large minority is running rampant with hacks and other various cheats that allow them to fuck other players over. It'd be nice for the dev-team to have a pretty solid financial-state, but by blocking other players off and having people feel excluded because they didn't spend money isn't the way to go at all. The merch is a decent idea to raise up money, but not by blocking other players off. You can argue that if they went out of early access tomorrow, it'd still be the same game, but all in all, it's just a title. A short one to define how horribly optimized this game is. The community is overly toxic and I personally feel adding paywalls would make it worse. Argue it all you like, but there are other ways to go about it, ways that I don't think I really have to go on about. You can add VIP, but don't limit players. That's literally all. It's not hard to do at all.

I have dropped around 1000 hours playing the game, MUCH more model working and such, I would GLADLY pay for a $5 VIP account thing.

@vocal shard the problem with kinect skeletal tracking is that once you start rotating relative to the kinect, it has to start inferring your rotation based off of what is essentially 2 dimensional data. Mathematically it doesn't know if you're rotating or getting narrower. Mathematically rotating in either direction looks the same when you're above that 2 dimentional plane that the kinect is seeing. A lot of assumptions have to be made and those are tricky problems to solve.

It does have depth and it can track rotation to an extent. I can swivel my feet on the Kinect V2 but if I go too far it flips out. It also always assumes that you're facing the camera.
