If it's a good quality hub you can kinda get away with it.
Often people with some VR capable laptops and the Rift need hubs if the laptop doesn't have enough USB ports.

Just don't do what my friend did and nearly blow up the hub by using a wrong power supply.

Depends on the HMD

#

The vive (and vive pro) only need one port (one usb 2.0 for vive, usb 3.0 for vive pro)
The Rift I believe needs up to 3 usb 3.0 for the cameras and one usb 2.0 for the HMD
Windows Mixed Reality needs one usb 3.0 port.

Reason being is the hand controllers have a pre-defined position relative to the hand bone, as that's an expected position.
The trackers positions are more of an unknown, so vrchat must be told where they are in relation to the avatar's rig.

Fullbody calibration is done as such:
Load avatar
It will be stood in T-pose
You step into the avatar and align the white spheres which are your trackers such that they are on the avatar the same as they are on you (or as close as possible)
Hold still and pull both triggers
Press forwards once

That's due to some stuff with the hip bone usually.
An on-the-fly workaround is to calibrate with it, stand straight and estimate how much you'd have to crouch to match the avatar
Recalibrate and crouch that same amount, then stand up straight.

press the windows key and r, in the dialog type in dxdiag and click run
When the main window opens it will tell you what processor model you have and how much memory it has (among other things)
In the displays (or it might be graphics or something similar) tab it will tell you about your GPU.

You can also create flying avatars using default unity components. Ask in #avatars-2-general and you might get help creating a avatar that can fly. No cheats or modified clients. Safer and much better
