Usually you would start a new Unity project, go in Assets - > Import Package - > Custom Package, pick the VRCSDK-2018.06.21.13.02_Public file and it should show in your assets as "VRCSDK"
To update the SDK itself, you go in VRChat SDK -> Check for Updates

@winged depot Ah I think Clownfish's "hear microphone" never worked for me. I had to go in the audio devices in Windows settings, open the CABLE output settings and tick "Listen to this device".

Yeah, Tupper mentioned it a while ago. It was after someone got falsely banned for "ban evasion", because they did a commission and uploaded it to the client's account.
Then the client got banned
And since the commissioner was associated with the account, he got banned as well.
You can work around that for commissions, though. Just give them the whole Unity package. If you can't because of paid assets, then buy those assets for them and include it with the commission price or something. Or have them buy it.

Well... it does bypass permissions set by Windows if set in a dual-boot config I think. Which allow you to mess with "protected" files created in Windows. Cause Windows 10 sometimes locks the user from accessing... their own files. Which is one of the most infuriating thing a computer can do to it's user: Prevent the user to use said computer.

If you only use models with similar proportions (such as MMD's), you can adjust your real height to be lower than it really is in order to alleviate the issue

For example, I set my height in such a way that I can stretch out my arms and it'll work. But when I select a Stormtrooper model with realistic human proportions, suddenly I find myself stretching my arms out entirely when I'm just idly sitting

If you mess with your real height like that, you need to either activate seated play while standing (this has no adverse effects by the way)
Or you can use a playspace mover to just move your playspace to compensate

It's a tradeoff unfortunately. The best way is to edit the model so it matches your proportions.
There are several ways to do this, but drastic changes might require small amounts of retopo on the elbows/knees to prevent them from looking scrunched.

Whenever I launch vrchat through oculus home or in steam from my desktop, vrchat has no sound. The steamvr and oculus menu still have sound when I open them ingame.
the only way I get sound in vrchat is by going to steam vr first, then launching vrchat from there. but that is very annoying especially since there is no steamvr shortcut in oculus home
