drivers for NVIDIA are usually more stable. Benchmarks put the 1060 and RX580 on pretty much equal footing more or less. The only difference being if you plan on playing at resolutions higher than 1080p that extra gig of VRAM on the 580 will help a bit.

Drivers are stable, but you still should wait a week to download them when they come out. I can't count how many times i've had to rollback to previous versions because they broke VR or something else.

When you click avatar pedestals, your avatar tell the server "give me an avatar with this ID". The console does the same thing, but for any avatar that you chose, because avatar IDs are public when you have the usernames
