so im asking this here in case anyone has had the same issue and found out how to fix it besides just not using them. i have a pair of sony xb950n1s and in my playback and recording its split into 2 different devices.

headphones and hands free

my problem is if i use it like i should, headphones for playback and hands free for recording and select the hands free (which you have to to have it pick up the mic) it will cause the game to crash with an access violation from mono.dll in unity. now ive tried asking tupper directly about this already and he said it cant be fixed in the traditional way untill unity is updated on vrchat and for now ive been using my headphone for playback and my laptops mic for recording in game but my laptop picks up a lot more feedback and noise than my headset does and it irritates people and i honestly cant blame them...

that being said, has anyone eveer had this issue and found a work around besides just not using their mic portion? figure it doesnt hurt to ask :/

im not sure. i think i had someone try and help me with that but my laptop got wiped recently (i do a wipe every year to just quickly get rid of stuff i dont use or play anymore) so all of that was gone and we went at it for over an hour only to find out u have to set both playback and recording to hands free to use it on vrchat atm and what made it worse was since the headset i guess has 2 different headphones in it? (one set for music and is very crisp and the other that it switches to when i get a call and the music quality on it is garbage. worse than iphone earbuds...) but again when you do this, mono.dll freaks out and shuts me down so.. even if he got it all set up correctly, it seemed unity did not like it at all and made it quite clear

i cant see why it should be giving the admin issue other than it being strictly unitys fault cause i literally went into the system and (not smart but tried) giving ALL accounts FULL control over everything. safe? no but i dont go places that arnt safe so...

so i mean in that thought process, nothing i do should be getting blocked, period for any reason unless its the special actions that is blocked to all accounts across the board

but i cant get access to that option obviously so i assume it wouldnt help anyway

This is just a guess ED, but try opening VRChat while holding ctrl. It should open a settings menu, there might be something in there. Otherwise, try looking for a settings file in the game directory (in-game settings are usually saved in some .cfg or .ini file in various videogames)

Do you know if you can do a system recover to a previous state without losing data? I've never actually done one, but I know it's possible and your computer does it automatically if booting fails. @vocal shard The PS4 camera on PC isn't much of a software issue. The real problem being that the PS3 camera can be easily connected to your computer because it has a USB connector, whereas the PS4 camera instead uses a proprietary connector that can only connect to the AUX port on the back of your actual PS4, not PC. You would have to go through a pretty involved process of making an adapter for the PS4 camera, connecting to your PC, and then forcing some drivers to recognize it as such. If you're not super computer/soldering savvy I wouldn't recommend attempting something so troublesome.

Question. Is it possible to change or add binds for/from a controller in VRChat?

Eg, Razer Hydra. Both controllers have a button that is unused, and due to the lack of 'bind' options in VRChat, there's no way, as far as I know to actually bind them to some form of emote. Such as "Point".

I've worked out how to do 'Peace', and with a button combo, can do 'Rock & Roll'. But that's just it...those two emotes.

@vocal shard I don't have any, but I would recommend Oculus Rift. The problem with Vive in VRChat is how the thumb pad is handled : touch to do gesture and press to move. Because of that, there's a high chance you'd be running while doing a thumbs up. I also heard that touch pad is kinda fragile.
