@jolly totem The hack can sniff out the avatar ID of the current avatar you are using and let them save it as a "shortcut" to their avatar list. Basically put an avatar pedestal in their menu. However if your avatar is set to private, then they shouldn't be able to use it even if they got the ID. Only your account would be able to use it.
