where am I gonna find 5.6.3p1 sdk
I uploaded the new sdk and now it only shows clear player prefs and cache, how do i fix that?

@crimson shore As far as I am aware, the official word based on what I've seen from dev reddit posts is that if you don't download unauthorized vrchat clients you should have no problems with avatars spreading malware. This is just based on what I've seen from those reddit posts.
Unauthorized vrchat clients could come with/allow people to transmit malware to you if in use, according to what I've read
to hack and mess with others

It seems fully impossible to upload an avatar tonight. If updated, they don't update. If deleted, they're never replaced. It just says it worked in the SDK

Yeah the new movement is driving me crazy on Vive as well. What was gained wasn't worth what was lost. Wish there was a toggle.

for ppl having problems with uploading avatars with the new SDK try this - remove the old avatar ID from pipeline manager -> upload avatar as public -> go to SDK manager -> Set avatar as private

it controls more like a joystick now, you press in then move your thumb where you want to go
Double tapping making me stop dead in my tracks instead of just nudging me over to the side is really annoying, having my finger just barely come off the pad when I'm not pressing it but moving and then stopping suddenly is driving me nuts. Can't slide in air nearly as effectively as before, but that was likely not intended anyway (but others still can). Most annoying though, is the delay on hand gestures. I use a marker to draw for most of my communication
the delay is making it frustrating
still wish I could use my joystick though (I have the windowsmr)

My friends were all happy because they could finally move while using animations with the vive

click the button and just keep your thumb on the touchpad
you only have to tap the pad to start moving, from then until you lift your finger, it's just trackpad controlled
closer to the center is slower, the edges are the fastest

So it's been a while since I played VRChat with my headset. Did they change the way the game "loads" during crowded rooms? I'm noticing instead of harsh frame drops. I'm just getting weird screen tears.

I can't change gestures while dancing... I end up crawling everywhere unless I hit the edge of the control pad.... and my leg trackers freeze every time I change gestures

I think there’s a compatibility problem with the update. My tower has 3 hard drives and Discord is installed to a drive other than C.

I'm hearing reports that "some" people like the new controls... I'm trying to think of a use case where it's better.... like maybe if you stand still all the time and like to look down at your hands while carefully picking a gesture that you want to use over and over

What does making an avatar private do?

It makes it so that only your account can use your avatar
The only time you should make an avatar public is if you plan on putting it on a pedestal

They did the technique where you put a garbage feature in (vive movement) with a must have feature (panic button) so that they cannot revert.

They changed it because they thought they were improving it, while in reality they were not
It is a common mistake, just look at the ribbon in Microsoft products

I've played games that do that and you just sorta get used to it though
if you get stuck spinning, out of the map, in a small room and so on then you're literally unable to interact with your menu properly

I removed the old SDK and imported new one, but it seems like i have problems to sign in sdk
but it's basically the same volume out to about 50 feet, then falls off sharply
try removing and readding it fixed it for me

Not sure where to ask this: In VR, on every model, my arms end up being bent even when I have them straight at the sides. Adjusting player height doesn't seem to help. Is there anything I can do or am I stuck with gorilla arms forever?
Engi have you tried re-calibrating your floor? It sometimes messes up the arms..

like maybe hold a key to put the arm in a specific position
since the keyboard is pretty much free save for the current gesture controls and WASD movement controls

Did anyone even test the Xbox controller Panic mode? It either just tabs out of the game or opens Steam overlay keyboard.

i was just the other day talking to some friends and raving about how the movement system in vrchat is my favourite VR chat movement and how i cant play things like pavlov (Although its really fun!) because the movement makes no sense

I'm playing on Google Cardboard with a xbox-like gamepad
And I feel like only 4 buttons actually do something
I haven't tested yet the new controls with the vive, but we've asked for being able to use hand gestures in same time as movement, and now that we have it people are complaining. The control have changed ? who cares, just learn to use the new ones. I means the Vive wands are purely shit in term of controllers, and I had to learn how to use them when I started playing on vrchat. See this as a new start, once you get the new controls in your mind, you wont think about the old ones.

hmmm my game seems to freeze sometimes
take in consideration that the trackpad button of the vive want is easily used/broken from too much usage
so it's a clever choise to use hover
i'd rather not have to sit there doing the thumbs up for hours on end to not have myself flying all over the place
the worst thing is the want, they should really provide either buttons and joystik, or pad and joystik

vrchat: we're on steam and use steamvr but don't support steam features like join-a-friend
I use Rift so I'll try not to assume too much, but what I do know is that people who are used to the new controls really enjoy them. Getting used to new controls in any game can be brutal (console players learning to use mouse and keyboard comes to mind). I think it's worth trying them for long enough to be proficient at them, as that's when you can really judge them and give solid feedback.
Panic button will immediately mute all non-friends and change any non-friend avatars to a generic grey dude locally

the pimax controllers will have joystick or trackpad, you can customize them
oh and pimax is compatible with vive accessories and sensors
vive you just tap the left control once then use touchpad silder your finger on it. people scare of new thing before test them out
