Pimax 8K is a neat concept though. 4k resolution per eye

almost no screendoor and a 200 degree FoV removing the "looking through scuba goggles" effect as 200 degrees is close to a humans if you include periphreal vision.

best of all, the 8K is designed to work with Vive basestations and controllers. Same for Oculus's stuff too I think. It got funded on kickstarter and is shipping in March I think. I'm gonna wait for it to pop up on Amazon and wait for reviews

That's 35 feet between the base stations in our dedicated Vive space in the shop, as long as you have the sync cable between the base stations the tracking does not take a hit.

Based on what reviewers said at CES. It seems that the res is nice and noticable but as far as what it might cost, it doesn't seem worth it to go out of your way to save up for it compared to the base model

People overlook craigstlist but you can really find some good deals there, espcially since its usually people just wanting to get rid of something fast so its even cheaper sometimes

I felt that it was the oehter way around. I'm nearsighted (far away things are hard to see) but I can see alot pretty clearly without my glasses on my oculus. But I hear people who have issues with close up things have issues. which would make sense since everything is close to your face

I will admit that it does depend on what it is though.

if its way too small text wise, then forget it. For example. I stream my oculus and use SteamVR desktop view to see my twitch chat. everything is pretty small looking and I cannot see chat unless I make the font zoom in at around 300% lol

yeah, and another issue is the glasses lenses touching the lenses in the headset and possibly scratching or smudging the inside

so it is a weird feeling being able to see something that is "far" away in game but, you know, not really because its a screen on your face lol

Yeah, I wont tell you whether you're going to like it or not because its a big investment and it very well may not be what you were looking for. All I can say is that for me, it was worth it.

And all I really do on it is play VRchat for hours on end with it lol.

I'd also like to mention that another thing that helps with bad eyesight is the fact that the occulus actually has a "sharper" look to it compared to the vive.

A friend bought the vive when I got the oculus and he says theres a constant slight blur for him, he thought it was broken but its just a thing apprently. But he doesn't need glasses so it wasn't that bad for him in the end. However, if that was me, even a slight blur would have ruined alot for me lol
