Main reason of me using cloud solutions for some stuff is mainly backup solutions. I already had the situation of not being able to take ANYTHING with me. Losing everything. Back then with my accounts as a teenager I didn't yet use password managers. So i remembered my password(s). But my Google account had 2FA enabled which i lost access to. Recovery process was pain in the ass.

Putting this here since its a general discussion:

• I still don't have a clock in my quick menu. Something i don't understand given that its insanely easy and fast to implement, having a ping and fps readout is much more complicated and the FPS readout is also impacting performance a lot more due to the fast updates compared to something like a clock that would only need a refresh every second if you were to include seconds (which i think is overkill and unnecessary)
• I still cannot animate my camera with keyframes, not without either using the new world feature (which requires making a custom world) or some incredibly hacky solutions such as VRCLens which may or may not have an additional framerate impact that i am not willing to pay.
• I still cannot disable features per avatar/person. I simply cannot understand why (now that safety settings are local anyway) i don't have granular control over what i want to see, how much i want to see and on who. This starts with a simple "Max VRAM usage setting" and ends in complete and full granular control over what a person's avatar can have, maybe i want that guy's lights to be turned off but keep everyone on. Maybe i want that other dude's particles off without turning them off for everyone, maybe i want THAT specific person's disgusting screen shader off without impacting everyone else. The safety settings are severely lacking.
• I still cannot fully customize my IK, no offense, Kung is doing god's work here and the improvements are amazing unlike what some people say but i want more options. Making one-solution for everyone also makes it infinitely harder for Kung as he has to factor in millions of avatars and configurations and make it work across all of them, configuration options (such as the prediction slider) are a good way for everyone to finetune things the way they like.

Just to put my biggest complains here as an example.

Infact i find the quick menu pretty immersive, sure it would be "cooler" if it was anchored differently forcing you to look at your wrist or something like that (rather than your hand side) but i don't see how that breaks immersion.

Usually you'll notice a significant amount of lag with a full cache (my friend had 19.3GB in his and his game was nigh unplayable. Our PCs do have similar specs but when my cache was the same size, I didn't have much issue, so I'd be mindful of the possibility of things being a bit inconsistent)

Yes, it does send data to locate other players and sync ppl and etc, but that's done completely on the CPU and that code will not affect your FPS / resource usage whatsoever because it doesn't take any resources. Downloading avatars in other hand would take CPU usage because well it needs to actually unpack the avatar and do one-time performance test etc.

unfortunately IK and Physics are done on the CPU (afaik)

that's why the game is CPU intensive.

• IK (CPU)
• Meshes (GPU)

These are the main culprits eating away your performance...

If you just simply like disable everyones avatars in a public world, your performance like triples. it's magic!

as far I know Physbone is something VRChat cooked up themselves and Dynamicbones was just paid asset but none of those relied on PhysX, but as for components like Mesh Collider in worlds, then yes that would use GPU since Unity indeed uses PhysX, but... since VRChat is published on the paid Unity Pro version they could switch to Unity's own Physics engine as for does that run on CPU or GPU idk

I know this will never be seen by anyone but it's worth a shot. Please, for the love of god make the default setting for "local chatbox visibility" set to everyone and not just friends. As a slective or especially a full mute you guys have no idea how hard it is to talk to people and make friends when nobody can see your messages and often aren't even aware that there is a setting blocking it, and so you have to find someone who can see your messages to tell them what to change. Especially with visitors and new users who don't even know what any of the settings are

and to anyone who tries to say "well there's always pens".... no.. Not all worlds have pens, and some worlds that do the pens are disabled by default. There is no defending this whatsoever, the game is called VRChat, you are supposed to be able to communicate with everyone unless you specifically choose otherwise. This wasn't even a thing until a more recent update as well

Some people, given their circumstances, either new to the game, afraid of being judged, or just tired, think a feature like a chatbox that VRChat implemented is enough for them to talk to. I don't blame you for that thought, but it's how those people want to communicate. All cases are better than not talking at all (no text, no voice, no gestures), right?

That's on you I guess, but with Misty's case, they feel like something should be set as the default, should have been set as the default anyway. I don't really see the harm of having all chatboxes from people shown.
Still feeling like it's easily abused because too many people having chatboxes shown for heartrate, Spotify status, or other things that you don't care about? Let that be a toggle for certain individuals to have their chatboxes hidden for you. I do feel like someone has made a post about this onto VRChat's Canny forum as a feature request already

Picture it from my standpoint. Imagine im in a populated public world and im trying to engage someone in a one on one conversation. As a female, the second i turn on my mic and start openly speaking, chances are the nearest questie will turn around and run up to me yelling "MoMMy?"

now you could say i could just block that user, but

it would be a lot easier to just not have the problem arise to begin with. literally when i started playing vrc a few months ago the default setting was already set to everyone, and then a recent update changed it. So this is a new issue that happened for no reason
