Playing the game solo works great, but we have a lot of lag in our private multiplayer games, so bad it makes it unplayable.

Have you tried playing with just the one friend, and then the other, to see if there’s a problem with one of their setups?
Could be their renderers aren’t correct

Hi! Okay we tried and correctly guessed, with friend 1 there's an issue, with friend 2 there's not, fluid gameplay.
Friend 1 told me he been playing Tiberian Sun yesterday and today by himself without issues, but if he creates a multiplayer game and just adds 1 ai (no humanj players) he does have the same lag

He tried all the renderers and all of them are giving this laggy, freezing gameplay.

Hmm. @fluid yew might have some ideas that could help if it doesn’t seem like it’s renderer related.
Other things that come to mind would be ensuring graphic card drivers are up to date?

he updated the drivers, still same issue. He had 1 game that was flawless with Automatic renderer, but then next game issue came back. Then he tried all the renderers again, and they all failed and were laggy and freezing, even Automatic setting that did work, but only a single time..

When he is in game and lagging does the pause menu work or is it invisible?

@fluid yew If you mean the regular pause menu when we press ESC, then there's nothing wrong with it when he pauses ingame.

We still haven't found anything to solve this 😦

- What resolution is he playing with?
- Do other games have lag issues?
- Tried windowed mode?
- Double checked "Automatic" was set? Could try reinstalling?
All these lag test problems happening in Skirmish? They have to make sure skirmish is working nice and smooth before trying online etc.
