And I think you pegging all your hopes and dreams on Blackpink not disbanding on a video game is setting yourself up for disappointment because chances are they did not renew. Especially Rosé because she has been vocal about wanting to do her own thing. It's not at all likely for renewal to happen and YG now has his new group to focus on. So even if Blackpink did renew they will be completely inactive as a group after this tour with a huge hiatus but be locked into a contract where they can't do solo projects beyond fashion or when another member is employed they can't work or compete. I don't think the problem is that they are doing fashion and modelling as a side hustle. I think the issue is people would like to see more solo music from them and it feels like the only thing YG lets them do as a solo gig is fashion. Also Blackpink always takes really long hiatuses and I think during that time YG only let Rosé and Jennie do fashion, no TV shows or anything so that caused a stir too.

I think the opposite. I actually think the fact YG is trying to cram in as much content as possible (merch, game, Jisoo's solo, extra tour dates) before September is a sign of urgency. Like he wants to milk them for all they are worth while still a group. And judging from what people like Rosé have said about wanting to branch out and make her own music I can't see a renewal doing her any favors.

Oh and I was talking to the owner of my local kpop store about it. She's been in the business for years and saw many groups come and go and AFTER I bought a BP hoodie off her she said to me I should enjoy it because she thinks after this year they will separate.

And finally, not really a hint but if someone was given a chance to make millions of dollars with one comeback a year , a solo activity every few years & a tour every few years , who wouldn't sign up for it?
