Disbandment makes sense actually. They are basically 4 soloists in a group. The solo activities take up more of their lives than group activities but due to YG favoritism, some always get more than others and some have been getting the short end of the stick since day 1. Essentially to renew as they are the members who aren't given opportunities under YG will have to continue submitting to that cause imo I don't see that changing. A contract like that is so restrictive when you are relying on YG to let you do things. It's a sad situation really.

The group is strong yes. But the group also impacts their solo popularity. It has increased the solo draw of some members and the group has reduced the solo draw of others. That's down to YG not treating them the same. I'm sure it does impact some members...unless they have essentially given up.

Overall I'm not sure the trade off is worth it. We might get another album if we're lucky. But the rest of the time it's going to be solo stuff or YG just using Blackpink to promote his smaller artists. We are already seeing blinks spread rumors of a Somi collab. Blackpink are going to disband one day whether it's tomorrow, in a year, in 10 years. And when they do some members will absolutely never be seen again because YG never gave them equal opportunities when he should have.

Lisa talking a lot about freedom and do the things she wanted recently. I mean an exclusively contract with YG literally means there is no freedom, you have to get their approval for anything you do. It sucks for artists with BP's status. It's not just about the career, it's also about the happiness and mental health. Imagine as an artist you got all the offers from top producers such pharrell williams to work together and YG just blocked it. It is not just missing opportunities it's just toxic relationship. I personally support idols to break such contracts that enable Kpop agencies to control every aspect of their life if they can and Blackpink is the revolution after all.
