yes the supply was greatly increased, but demand (i would imagine) stayed relatively the same

thus, the lower prices are a result of the effect these changes had on supply and demand

(to clarify, if demand did decrease as you said, then yes, price would probably be EVEN lower - as for your comment that it was the supply specifically that decreased the demand, dat likely cannot be a certain statement)
