most romcom work like this:
main couple meets, they have an instant alchemy (which is usually never explained, whereas that kind of story can happen, but it's not always the case), they spend the entire drama chasing after each other, they usually end up with each other around ep8, then around ep 12 there's a "huge" problem (huge between parenthesis because honestly, it's often drama for no reason) which makes them break up for one episode or two, then they end up with each other after realizing love is stronger than problems

i'm not making fun of it, I liked a lot of romcoms, it's just that after watching several following that exact routine, it gets... less interesting than romcom that try to be a bit different

in their narrative and characters

and their reasons

so I'm not far in Fight for my Way, so it might end up just the way the other romcom end up

but it still feels refreshing because in addition to that "routine" which is not followed here

the other characters are also put in a better perspective than "mere" props for the narrative
