Because earlier you were required to be present and perform to be eligible to win a trophy, and since you're ineligible to win in your first week, groups had to do multiple weeks on music shows to win trophies
But most music shows have done away with attendance requirements now, so groups afk farm
There also weren't many western promotion opportunities and groups were not touring as often, so there was nothing better to do after a cb
And like this has effectively killed the really fun part of a cb, which was the groups going on korean variety shows. Something I used to look forward to
Now there's an awkward interview on an american tv show, but the fans love it because it's in english and on their tv
