Kinda like a soft timer that works by very slowly inflicting permanent damage on the player in very small increments (maybe adjustable) which gradually reduces their health until it reaches 0

Damage could probably be curable via increasingly expensive, specific anti-illness Doctor checkups, or incurable if the timer is slow enough (the time between damage could also be adjustable)

Good idea, but the whole idea of curing it kinda kills it, maybe stick to damage adjustment, and even then you may wanna make it really expensive

yuh I think curing it defeats the point unless you made it tick down super fast (like every minute or so)

I like the idea of it being a disease-like status effect that you get from a rare and dangerous source, but as a mutator wouldn’t that just be the same thing as a time limit? Especially if it wasn’t curable

That's the idea of the suggestion, your health drains at all times until you can cure it, and curing it will be pricey
