I think it would be aesthetically pleasing if you could have the option to use a static camera instead of one that follows you. Like in the original Zelda, The camera stays in one place until you walk to the exge of the screen, and it’ll cold cut to the next area.

Or another cool alternative would be that the camera scrolls a bit until you reach the edge of a chunk, then you have to pass to the next chunk for the camera to switch.

This would require the entire game to be reworked. How could you drive a fast car if you can only see one screen ahead? And what if someone in the next screen is shooting at you?

Rain World operates in a way where you can't tell what's on the next screen sometimes. But I was totally just spitballing an experimental mutator idea and yeah people prolly wouldn't care for it

I mean it's not that it wouldn't be cool, it would just mean way too much technical overhead to be feasible
