Something along the lines of "-Xs to cooldown if picked up by an ally" would be a good incentive, but we don't want to punish solo medics~

(haven't played the class yet so going off last playtest in my head)

I disagree, medic’s main benefit is being able to heal your allies who have a hard time naturally healing themselves (aka people specing into specific builds who cant afford to use stat points towards regen)

Speaking of regen, medic itself can use it quite effectively, reducing your need to heal yourself and focus on support

#

Limiting people’s options on what they can and cant do just inhibits part of the fun of the SAS series, being able to do whatever you want with your builds. And, the burst healing while you get separated from your teammates is quite helpful. Was the same in sas4 and worked quite well, i don’t see a reason to change it

I understand the advantage of healing other allies, but it doesn't incentivize its use. Besides being able to revive yourself three times per match, I don't see people doing it. It's strange that it happens. I've played with people like that before, and as I said, they have considerable health and use their ability to heal themselves even when others are in worse condition. I'm not saying they should remove the ability to heal themselves. I don't know if the gas ability works the same way to regenerate faster, but if it does, I don't see the need to change it.

That's fine, but if medics heal themselves, the class loses its unique role. A true support would increase the chances of winning, and their playstyle would be different from the other classes. You have to keep an eye on your team and see who's most in danger.

#

The idea is that each class is unique to increase replayability.

and make the players less selfish

You’re ironically going to lose more games if you’re selfish

#

That’s the incentive

True, but they don't; selfish doctors continue to treat themselves even if they lose. The incentive isn't enough in the current demo.

Self healing has always been a thing in sas 4 and no one cared I don't think it'll be any different for za:r either

Agreed

IMO if you want a medic that plays well and heals you, you should play with players you know or can communicate with effectively

#

It’s silly to hamper a playstyle in order to make other players do what you want

It's not absurd, but I'm tired of debating.

I played a game with a medic, and after looking at his skills, it seems I was wrong; he's quite a good medic. My apologies to everyone.

#

He's better than the medic from SAS 4. I still need to see his special abilities, but he's alright.

So you didn’t play with them before using it? Lol

I haven’t played Medic myself yet, but after watching how another player used it and checking the skill tree, I realized it’s actually pretty good. So my earlier opinion was based more on observation than on personal experience.
