Oh noes, he says data placed. How amazing 😦
you cant trust any video
how would you proof that the image wasnt on the usb stick the whole time 😄
he even has it on the target machine before... to compare the data
Even if he loaded up am empty stick there's no guarantee he doesn't have something on startup to copy the image over on laptop 3
cold boot attack is what it's called. I'm not sure if his example is legit or not, but it's supposedly a real thing
That's pretty cool
i think that was more like the power supply where the caps had enough charge?
since AT psus where either on or off, not that soft power like ATX
ok i only knew it from AT systems
where pushing the power button twice quick enough had the same effect
I used to do that with my power switch sometimes. Turn it off and on quickly and see if it stayed alive!
https://www.evercase.co.uk/images/PSU/PSU/psu.jpg Do they still make these?!
Hi guys, for running UE5, it’s better using PC or Gaming laptop?
PC ofcourse
Do you have recommendations for CPU , GPU and RAM?
Depends on your budget but im not a very hardware guy
Around 3k-4k maybe, do u know how long we can use pc for game development? I mean still good on the next 5 years
I from Mac users
for 3-4k you can get a beast
But everything in here become expensive for hardware 😂
Still
13900k (u can choose the 7950x too ofc, if you game a lot you might even take a look at the 7950x3d) if you choose the 13900k, definetly get a contact frame. 4090 with 64GB 6000MHz or 128 GB but 64GB dual channel is the most stable. With 128gb you have to cut them around 4000MHz for a stable result iirc. RTX4090 ofc, just make sure you have 24GB VRAM with that budget
When i tried simulation from your recommendations, in here to be around 8k-9k
Which one is better? Intel or AMD for CPU? I think I'll be using it a lot for game development
What simulation? Benchmark or „simulating“ the money to spend?
Simulation price hardware
Might depend on ur country. I would easily get those for that budget
Yeah, tax is high in here
Thank you for your recommendations by the way @drifting axle
1.8k usd would be the 4090 in my country, what would you pay for it?
4090 around 2800
Oh wow
So expensive
so the 3-4k aren't USD...!?
a 4090 is about 2400$ USD here as well
Anyone here using laptop for UE5?
I was thinking of buying powerful or gaming laptop for UE5
To work with UE5 when traveling
Me
what's your laptops' model and config
i got a 4500u , 16gb ram and a 256gb ssd
Your laptop isn't melted in UE5?
not yet
What I do is use a shitty laptop and use parsec to remote access my work computer.
assuming im building my new PC bit by bit (paycheck by paycheck) what should i get first (with GPU and HDD's being last)?
paycheck being around $800 every month
my thought is
1: case
2: PSU
3: Motherboard
4: CPU
5: cooling
6: ram
7: SDD
then the 2 HDD's and the gpu being very last
also have the video card ports physically changed in the last like 15 years?
true but i have a long haird cat that sheds like its 100F in the house
i had to put a filter on my laptop and media desktop fans because her hair gets EVERYWHERE
the case is honestly cheap enough, and the engineer in me cringes because non of my current cases fit this
so theres nothing to effectively mount it
only case i have thats large enough, is the "never shut down" minimalistic desktop that handles the media i download and store (32tb soft raid HDD)
doesnt that need its own PCU?
power supply
well yeah
tbh my knowledge of hardware lags considerably behind the curve
if you're on a budget I would just get an older gen gpu tbh
its only recently ive gotten to the point where i have all my bills setup to afford a decent computer inside a year
can even get a second hand one
of course not
I'm still living with my 1070ti just fine
not doing 4k gaming but who cares
main thing is my income is regularly in flux, so
until recently
ye im realizing that
also depending on your purposes you could get away with an i5 instead of 7 but depends what you wanna do mostly
this is the laptop im currently living lif with:
any reason to go with liquid cpu cooling?
anything modern will outstrip my current setup
I'm still running of this cooler with no issues https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B005HIRDUA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
my desktop currently has 12gb ram, and a dual core A4-7300
of course I built this over 5 years ago
my server even runs on a passive cooler 😎 but of course doesn't do much heavy stuff
yeah im mainly looking to buy a decent setup for game and dev, and not really have to worry too much about it for another 4-6 years
game wise im into GTA/RDR and space engineers
yeah
into more games but those are obviously the most resource heavy in their groups
i know
is this what i should be grabbing?https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BGJRHX1X?

part picker says compatible
and of course don't forget the 300 dollar custom mechanical keyboard to go with it 😎
fe is founders edition right?
yeah thats where i went
hm cant seem to find founders for under like 2k
i may not be looking in the right space
and by slots you need those pop out bits on the back of the case right?
this would really only be my second hand built computer, my lifestyle until now has forced me to be laptop oriented
theres no difference between this and the FE other than size right? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BGJRHX1X?

space isnt an issue
my office is 12 foot x 12 foot and my desk has like 30 square feet of space
ah yes
i just got off a 12 shift
space inside the case ↕️
my brains a little slow
and cooling itself shouldnt be that hard, once i get the heat outside the computer its gone, my office is right next to the AC unit so im ducting a specific send and return vents for the computers in here
yeah
BTU mass transfer
HVAC trained, so yeah i know theres a maximum threshold
yeah
and physical case size doesnt matter i have like 6 square feet setup just for it
is this decent enough for a cooler or still too big? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086BYYFG5

better?
parts checker says compatible
Noctua nh d15 easily outperforms most of the medium end liquid coolers :P
i dont know much about this stuff as until now been using laptops
if ur in an AC area stock is prolly gunna do just fine.. might make more noise but not allwats
That's just making sure you don't buy a card that's over the listed case clearance, or buying the wrong CPU for the wrong motherboard etc.
stock cooler
Im usin stock cooler on my amd cpu and its fine... its the big case fans that more more noise anyways
put the d15 on the list
amd stock coolers also suck... dont care 😛
as for ram should i go 2 32gb sticks or 4 16
actually have a big cupper cool block with a big fan... never bothered to put it on.. needed to get a bracket for it
its prolly 10$ of cupper or some shit

That's also a good cooler
epic
now for SSD
is there a need for more than 4tb ssd?
if i have 32TB in a box i can make backups/long term storage too
I'm running out of case space for ssds. I also don't have any hard drive space. Desperately running out of storage and my only m.2 SSD slot is in use. Do you think it's worth getting one of those pcie cards that hold a bunch of m.2 ssds
I made a poor case choice, and my PSU had rather stiff cables, with it being semi modular, so the drive cage had to go :P
Oooh noooo
I've been trying to find an excuse to build a new system but I can't. I ain't gonna fix what ain't broken
I just love the building process
It's really fun
but tbh aside from what i can fit on thew 2TB i dont need the high read case use of an SSD
standard SATA would work fine for long term movie and video storage
until i pull out the RAID box
ive been thinking of putting the epic launcher in sandboxie... it just puts stuff on randome places on random drives all the time 😛
and 8TB Sata drive is like half what the 2TB SSD is
vault... shader cache ... all that sort of things
i know how to change it... but than i get a new engine version and it still creates a new folder in appdata when i boot it up
so yeah i cut like $900 off my pc build just here and now
i still need to figure out the monitor(s)
1440p 144hz
tbh... aside from being brighter, i dont really see much of a difference with refresh rates so yeah
my current monitor is some $100 thing from walmart my boss gave me
they bought 3 while setting up the store and turned out they needed 2 + waited too long so they couldnt return it
i sit pretty close to my monitor... really dont need 4k... if i get a bigger monitor than this i dont even like it
think this is 24 inch... pretty basic
its not HDR.. some ppl swear by that, but when i bought this monitor that was super rare
yeah tbh... i dont get what everyone rants about with needing $$$$ periphrials and monitors with the absolute best refresh rate
lik 10monitors had it
keep in mind, my first gaming experience that wasnt a windows 98 laptop, was an HP slim with vista and 2gb ram
you would really need to check that in a store too see it i guess, i never seen a hdr screen i think
my first personal laptop had 256mb ram and 32gb IDE HDD
in 2016
im used to dealing with old/second hand stuff
my 1st pc had 4mb ram and bought 4 more for like 800$
and tbh, lag is like part of my life in general
mb, not gb
i gor my 1st pc pretty young... paid for the ram myself
my first all mine computer was a laptop with a 3.5in floppy drive and windows XP home edition
bought and upgraded to Service pack 3 myself
was like $40 for the god damned specially formated floppy drives
tbh. i only asked my parents (who would have likely said yess anyways) for a computer once
and its still chugging away next to me
its got 8TB SATA and filled with movies and shows
that sounds perfectly not pirated at all 😛
tbh... i cant stream jack didly
im still on DSL
i get 0.3MB/s
down and 0.045MB/s up
so yeah lag... i live it
also you have to love games that seem to reward having trash systems by letting you simply disable grass vs just using an alternative method of graphical handling
like "my system is so bad i can snipe because grass wont render, they cant see me but i see them"
ok so my brain is bugging at something, MB's come with fans for the CPU yes/no?
someone mentioned "stock"
i know
dunno, 1st time i got 144 it really burned my eyes for 2 days for some reason 😛
hence comma
got used to it and love it now
tbh im so used to lag, anything that isnt rubber banding or even slightly better than the screen in an inspiron laptop is better
to an extent
this laptop has an old style LCD
oh i know
but anything is better than latant image LCD that triggers my autism and ADHD like crazy
question since the power supply picked isnt really out there, what aside from the 1000w power rating, what should i be looking for?
given i have the GPU, SDD and 1-2 SATA drives, and the little things, to power
is there a company known for best reliability? idk what could really go wrong with the thing but like from noise
my current desktop has a random 450w supply in it, and its pretty quiet
im getting the 4090
yeah tbh id dont mind it as long as its not "going to warp" all the time unless im telling unreal to package something
yeah overall this seems like a still fairly quiet build
yeah personally i dont mind, as i said i usually have some tv show or movie playing in the background for the gerbil in my head to listen too
i just dont want the video and my pc fans competing for noise all the time and keeping people awake
I don't think I've seen the fan on my PSU spin once and I head it for a few years 😅
so i found a group of 14 12vhpwr equipped PSU's
and all are $150-180
loudest single thing on my current desktop is the disk reader
an old x27 dvd-rw thing that sounds like a plane engine when reading a disk
yeah
yep
totally agree
but i mean these are from the partpicker list (dont really trust the first like 8 pages of google cause traffic routers)
You basically can't go wrong with Corsair RM (X) series
They make quality PSUs
CORSAIR RMe Series Fully Modular Low-Noise Power Supplies provide quiet, reliable power with 80 PLUS Gold efficiency to your PC. With ATX 3.0 and PCIe 5.0 compliance and an array of PCIe 8-pin power connectors, RMe PSUs have the connections needed to power today’s demanding PC hardware. Industria...
thats fine
yeah
tbh unless the cables are gonna melt cause they arnt perfectly routed, i dont mind a little clutter, most of my focus is on the monitor not the rig
yeah
im very, very used to cable working, the management of where they go is meh
currently my desk looks pretty until you look under it and its a rats nest
as i add more cables for more features i just grab a cable mount from the collection i bought and stick the cable up under the desk
ouch
and melting inside is fatal bad or "nightmare" bad
well yeah
wouldnt GPU be one of the LAST things you put on it?
i have a fully setup and well lit electronics table in the house
dads an electrical engineer
it helps cause i have vastly more respect for cable connections and general electrical caution
better than out maintenance dude who was trying to pull out things from behind an outlet pannel with a metal screw driver and "getting shocked"
uh whats the difference between whats on my list and the first 2 considerably less expensive items
yeah whats on my list is ddr5
yeah im just curious why these are so much less, other than the DDR4 there doesnt seem to be a difference
wild the more costly one doesnt have wifi
is this the SSD port or something else?
tbh where a SSD goes is the only real head scratcher i have left
well and what exactly the difference between these PCIe ports are:
Sorry, went to check which one I actually got and got distracted with how dusty the fans are so ended up cleaning that 😅
It's RM1000X
And for my own sanity had to check the connector..
It's in 😅
yeah it's 4 tentacle ugly looking thing, meant to order the 2 cable corsair one but a bit of a pain to get it here
Switched to the 4090 like 2 months ago
the m.2 ssd go unter slot is over the top pcie x16 slot. There is a heatsink that you need to remove first to be able to install it.
here?
this?
yeah i noticed the SSD gets HOT
in my current laptop its like the #1 heat generator for specific point heat
so my new desktop seems to have 4 slots for SSD's is that normal?
pcie 4 m.2 can get hot so you should use somesort of heat sink
nice
are all 3 of these for the GPU (one at a time obviously)?
the silver one?
what are the other 2 for?
so more just modular upgrade stuff
yeah
im assuming this is like what the 4090 is gonna take up?
maybe not all the way to the right but basically?
kinda wanna see what it looks like in yalls rigs
i know from images its BIG, but just HOW BIG
yeah
tbh probably gonna buy everything but the GPU first, then see what exactly the FE costs vs the one on my list
yeah the GPU will require much research cause thats a huge chunk of change and more than half of the computers price
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Hawkart0522/saved/xXVTmG
current build
master build v2 - Intel Core i7-12700K, GeForce RTX 4090, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
i do like that its all prime
i cut like $900 from the price and ended up with something more capable and more to my needs
yeah
tbh i prefer it to be overkill because its by far the most expensive thing, and in 4-6 years when i get around to updating the hardware it wont be really crappy
i currently just put coffee filteres with 3m sticky pads over the ports
its cheap and simple and doesnt restrict airflow by any real amount but no cat hairs
i mean its not pretty, but im like the only one who see's it
i also like the clearish front so i can see inside to whats making noise
plus its cool to simply watch the whole thing work
also looks like the only price for an FE 4090 is $2,000
nvidia is aparently out or i cant find like a page for it
HM
maybe its just temp out
probably because they are so desired
it's 2400$ here 🥲
oh yeah 2k sounds a bit much for US
best buy had hell of a 3090 deal when the 40xx series released
was $800 or $900 for 3090s left in stock
but that did only last short 😭
yeah seems like everyone is out of stock with the 4090
at lease in the 1600ish price range
at least with this build i can sort of wait around to buy it
yeah
worst case might buy a lower 40 series while i wait (just for better visuals) and gift it to my friend who has no cash to stick in his computer (some alienware with a 1060 in it
tbh idk what id need nvidia exclusive for
the nice RTX shaders?
for gaming AMD is just fine
ill admit, that overall im more a writer and manager than coder, but i havent gotten into coding cause my best computer has 8gb ram and an 8 year old AMD with vega
it just crashes every game engine but godot and game maker
personally i dont need high end vid card
i dont use much vram.. i like my extra cores tho
Would be nice to have more than 24GB for ML
this summerizes my entire capcity rn
it is potato but has an SSD in it
its an hp elitebook
it was also free
potato or not
its everything but elite
fuck that shit... just buy a 1100$ pc with a 400$ vid card in it and get it over with 😛
a dell inspiron 7590 2-in-1 (i like to draw on my computer)
you can grab a desktop from the recycle centre for free thats better than that
i did get it on sale cause "out of box" and it lasted 5 years
Have you tried running SD, I would imagine it's super fast on the 4090
fp16
how quickly?
tbh a lot of the laptop focus is that until the last month or so my lifestyle was highly mobile as a large area vendor
try this dimensional refraction, high quality, intricate detail, fantasy, mysterious, eerie, eternal (got a cool result with that in MJ)
whatever rig i had needed to fit in a suitcase (alongside 3 weeks clothes) and pass airport and amtrack security
really any cheap pc you buy is gunna 5x the speed of that shit... dont really need to go all out for an upgrade
higher quality
yeah though i want a rig thats gonna be powerful enough in 4-6 years it wont be what the Old Lady is now
she is a potato yes, but she tries hard
if my potato were a person it quallifies for over 120 thousand flight miles
this thing has done a remarkable job being tossed around and run through all that happens when you basically live out of a hotel room 24 of 30 days in the month
for 4 years
but yes now i have a normal 9-5 and a house to stick a very nice rig in
and i have so much dispoable i want something a bit overpowered
plus if im going to actually get into development it would help to have something that wont melt
getting a 600$ vid card or getting a 1600 vid card is only goin to help in certain cases
you can cross that bridge when u get there and sell ur old gpu :p
tbh if im getting rid of hardware thats actually applicable to modern day i give it to friends
selling is usually more hassle than the relationship boost gifting gives
same, or i make a linux build for server shit
i cant do server shit period
i have DSL and only DSL
ISP has laid fiber, but has not activated fiber for buying
yeah
ha
tbh unless you need to be at cutting edge hardware anything like that build will not have trouble playing anything for the next 5 years and might have issues near desired EOL when it comes to gamedev
but like unless something RADICALLY new comes to the gamedev world a 4090 should still pack enough punch
i mean people are here making games with 10's and 20's series
and those are fine cards
i mean tbh unless your building for like 1% of the steam population to use 100% of their resources a 4090 will be quite future proof for the next 5-8 years
something like 43% of all steam users use intel/amd built in graphics
the next 80% of remaining users fall between the cheapest MX150 and the 2080ti's
buying a desktop with a 600$ card is goin to up his performance by 1000%, getting a 1600 card is goin to make it 1200%
i agree it is, for now
but im also looking at what might be coming over the horizon in the next 3-4 years game wise
really that stuff is for when you need to render frames 6 days a week
ones that were built ground up with RTX capacity not simply given some RTX support and sent on its way
specifically for the power of the 40 series
you can do the exact same with a cheap card but it will take 30% longer
i render when i sleep 😛
time is money, and like i said while i still need to buy it bit by bit, my monthly disposable income is like $800
so like 4 months to buy the whole rig
and thats even after savings, fun fund, and a 10% cushion for "gotta haves"
mainly i like that i cut like a full month off the cost procurement and netted a much more beastly machine
would the i9 12900K still fit the same socket? i know its really just newer but if im gonna be using CPU dragging games like space engineers, and going for power (plus its like $80 more than whats currently in there)
if you arent familiar with space engineers it ate the crap out of my 8th gen i7 in my laptop and barely touched the ram and gpu
(MX250 laptop gpu)
i would go for a 1600 machine.. 200.. 250 monitor... 50$ mouse 300$ chair
i like my POS chair tbh, my $12 logitiec mouse, and my razor cynosia 2
its half broken but its actually kinda comfortable, regular squirts of WD40 to the base and its quiet
ahh i also have an old chair, not a gamer one.... my grandpa actually used to sit in it
mine is from my dads last office job, they were downsizing and were chucking a bunch of old office chairs
but a friend of mine was buyin a 3000$ pc.. for his old monitor sitting on a wooden kitchen chair...
so we grabbed a bunch that were in meh condition (all were broken somewhat) and cobbled together a rather nice wide office chair i can actually side sideways in
i told him dont get that 2nd gpu.. get a chair an monitor :p
i have a decent sized desk. one of those sitting standing desks, got it for $80 as a birthday gift from one of dads friends kids
tbh i drive a meh car, my living area is meh, but long as my tech is in working order and i can game and do my job ill spend a lot on it
he got the monitor and a chair... and a year later he went all out on a new chair... that thing really nice 😛
i got a decent bed, new phone, new smart watch, and now im working on my pc
oh yes, once my tech is in order i can focus on the office
i actually spent some time and effort getting my office setup for the incoming rig
indirect LED lighting, nice pro printer i got for free from a job, touch on/off lap for reading, and enough space for my laptop and my desktop + monitor
lamp is near door so i can walk in at night and it turns on when you touch it
walle more
its a ricoh
they retailed for like $2300 and sell on ebay for like 420-1800
full printer, scanner and copier (black and white) with print server support
so i can print from any device on my wifi
i dont print a lot.. i just know epson printers are a total scam
got it free cause one of the places i was vendoring at, was gonna chuck it cause they replaced it with a newer and better brother printer
tossed that shit out after doin 1 print when it said the ink was past due date
this things likes to leak a little ink on the side of the page but doublesided printing looks nice for professional stuff
plus "ID mode" that can smart detect an ID you scanned and give it like 1300DPI
fucking scammers.. i can hit epson printers with a baseball bat all day
you can buy an epson printer for 40$ with ink... and ink basically lasts forever.. but the software says the ink is no good
and you have to buy new ink for 80$
i have a really old HP printer that doesnt bark at me for not putting color in it
after 1 month
and is actually really reliable
its one of those that only has enough software to tell your driver that its ink is low, and to use indicator lights
ink no good.. buy new ink... we only accept epson ink cartridges
its also really compact and seems to accept traveling
bought the printer.. made 1 print... a few months later i tossed it
wouldnt print anymore
my company paid for 1 suitcase up to "Large" and i need to carry 3 weeks worth of clothing, supplies, and my tech with me for the vast majority of the month
its like $21 for a new ink cartridge for this printer, and i bought like 5. and it takes quite a bit for them to run out
like 600 pages a cart
the ricoh costs like $30
with shipping
my hp printer lasted 4ever... it would try to print even if there was no ink
and the rich can do like 30,000 pages on the thing
yep
old HP printers are beasts
new ones idk
the whole paper thing is a scam 🙂
hah i wish but i need to be able to print out vender tags and invoices for companies im working with
the company gave me some POS printer and the thing broke in transit and bleed ink on like 1/3 of my clothes
so for like a week i had to wear stark gleaming black shirts and pants
well, gotta log, good luck with ur new rig 🙂
i hope so
cant wait till the only bottleneck to my gaming is my internet
will it fit and is it enough more powerful enough to justify the 30% increase in price?
With the bios upgrade stuff, is that a "won't POST" issue or "won't get full capabilities"?
Well that's a shitter.
Or a board that just already supports your cpu out of the box.
for the most part im happy with this setup
and it fits my bills better, and i like having more power than im likely to use rather than chronically unable to play basic games
well and developing for the next 4-6 years
prefer all around, and this seems to be it.
yeah
what i currently have?
in the list
im probably sticking with the 7
id need a different mb for the 13 wouldnt i
is that easy for a novice to do?
hm so better to change both cpu and mb at this point given im assuming the Z690-A WIFI doesnt have it?
seems to support it, takes time to flash but it seems yes
is an i9 more powerful enough to be worth the extra $$ over an i7?
assuming im going to use it fully with dev
im curious cause my 8th gen i7 on my laptop ran pretty smooth in space engineers unless i was putting overly large amounts of physics calc strain
alright but is the 9 enough better to be worth it over the 7
im willing to spend if its worth the extra price
as for SSD if i already have an ssd i could put it in the rig before buying the nice 2TB one right? its an m2 as well
i pulled it out of my game laptop when it died like 8 months ago
best case i have a 1tb drive with all my games i want already, and i get the new drive later, worst case i simply get a case for the drive and use it as a removable
Can someone help me? My newer cpu is no longer working after 5 hours but the CPU fan runs
CPU fan actually runs but psu and GPU don't and my mobos CPU led is lit up
With older cpu everything works as intended
Psu actually spins fine just not gpu
Could be fried CPU
Not to scare you but if it suddenly stopped working after being fine for hours, and other CPU working fine it sounds like hardware failure
My first 5950x worked for 2 hours, suddenly crashed, would get past bios but would end up restarting by itself
Turns out CPU cache friend itself
I hope not, was looking forward to using this, but you're probably right
If it helps before it stopped working windows gave me an error saying Kernel Security failure
It was a windows bluescreen
But it stopped at 35% so I used my screwdriver to power off
But fan stayed on so I pressed the switch on the psu
"used your screwdiver to power off"? You mean the power switch on the mobo? I hope you do.
Yes
I don't have a case
Don't think so, it has LEDs that are labeled
Cpu led is on for my new CPU, after a few seconds on my old one the led turns off
Was working for 4-5 hours then I went to go take a shower
That's pretty much how mine went out too, blue screen and wouldn't boot up anymore
The suspicious thing is that the other CPU works fine as you said
Everything you mentioned, to me seems to point to a hardware failure
Tho if it's under warranty you should be able to get a replacement no problem
Did you take the motherboard into teh shower with you?
Not that I remember
I got it off Amazon I didn't pay for the warranty but I think it just comes with it right?
They'll come with one, yes.
I would assume so yeah
Yeah it's a pain
Assuming this is an AMD CPU?
Ryzen 5900X
Yeah, ok
I know a few people who got a dead (or died after short use) 5xxx series CPU, and the exact same thing happened to me
Seems to be more common with AMD for whatever reason
That sucks, atleast it can be replaced though
yeah
CPU fans was \still spinning?
I got this on sale and I don't even think I can replace only return
Just ask amazon.
ye I don't see a replace option only return
Yeah
this is stupid
paid so much for something that doesnt even work and cant even get a replace
You'll have to just buy a different one 😦
was on sale so I won't be able to
brought it during prime day
Well, get your money back and save up a little more 😦
Wtf, it works now
How do I make sure this doesn't happen again? Don't overclock my ram?
XMP was working perfectly fine with my old CPU but idk
Enable XMP again and see if it works. Then run memtest86 for a bit to see if it's stable. Then some prime95. Or whatever the latest good versions are.
idk its just super weird not sure why I need to use XMP for already 3200MHz ram
because most 3200MHz ram isn't 3200MHz ram
but advertised with it's overclocked XMP speed
im trying to get a tablet for android app development, and i found this one, while im better with phone hardware this seems to be a decent device for light to mid complexity games: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B59LC3LC
does there seem to be a problem im not noticing?
im assuming its upgradable
is there anything in 13-14 that would be different enough to spend the extra change?
are you planning to release next week? or is it possible that the current android version might be already 2 gens behind then?
no, like months from now. mainly porting this UE4 game i made to android, i think it might do better there: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1701760/Park_Rangers_of_The_Undead/?beta=0
Welcome To Brentwood National Park. You have been hired by The Company to rid the park of its wildlife, which just happen to be ZOMBIES. As a retired Mercenary you are qualified to use any and all means at your disposal to achieve victory.
$0.99
just feel it would fit better as a primarily tablet game over phone
since android lets me load the protoype better than apple its better to test the general port on a $100 tablet than keep trying to push updates to my ipad
is there anything in the very latest android that would be a problem?
or that i could make use of for this game?
Your only problem with mobile would be getting noticed tbh
yeah that i can solve with $$$
also one thing i cant seem to resolve does the MB/cpu come with a default cpu fan or do i need to buy that separately
yeah was mainly curious as "fans" in general i have
pulled enough out of computers to make an air cushion hoverboard for my HS science project
super scummy advertising then
The standard speed is 2400MHz (edit: 2133)
Advertised is what it can achieve with the xmp profile
standard is 2133
yeah whatever the default is
I mean that's been the standard of ram advertising for a while. I wouldnt call it particularly scummy. Slightly misleading, but they're designed to run with that setting on.
It's like saying it's scummy advertising that a 144hz monitor comes at 60hz out of the box, and you need to flick the setting on for 144hz :P
meh, not a really good analogy, didn't even hear of XMP until I got this new mobo
2133 is the default but I think 2400 was the highest option for the original specs.
It follows that most RAM chips were built on the expectation of 2133-2400 at 1.2 volts and 2933-3200 at 1.35 volts (XMP) early on. JEDEC did later release a specification for 3200 at 1.2 volts and correspondingly worse CAS latency, but the opportunity to save a few milliwatts by having slower RAM didn't make a big splash in the consumer market. [On the other hand, there's now 4000+ mhz DDR4, for people who really don't want to upgrade to DDR5.]
yeah, its pretty common knowledge :P
btw. who paid the costs for the damages on the 7000 series cpu's/mainboards due to memory overclocking? :>
since lot of brands don't give warranty when XMP is enabled / something is overclocked
whats the difference between soft and Hard RAID? like from what i read it means connecting multiple HD's together to act as one to the OS
i also have to say i dont get the hate wireless mice get
like why does the $13 mouse i have need to be replaced with another wired thing?
i agree my keyboard needs to be wired cause i like the RGB
not much these days, and specially not much for RAIDs used at home
hw raid has a dedicated cpu/fpga which does some math, but it's pretty much not worth mentioning in a small raid with 2-4 mechanical drives
and with HW Raid you are kinda bound to that controller, if the controller fails you need a new one, and good HW raid controllers are a few hundred bucks
Mainly since the MB im buying has 4 ssd slots was looking to get 2-4 2tb ssd's and use them connected
but why...
Idk im buying this in $800 segments and already have 2 SSD'
1 is 1tb the other is 500gb
specially then there are better solutions which can combine multiple drives into one
unless you want raid for a specific reason, like mirroring/parity stuff (which then reduces the usable capacity by at least 1/3)
Im like a total novice to this stuff so my accurate terms suck. Just want the 3 drives i have/will have to combine and read as on 3.5tb drive
then read up on LVM
and i bet you spent more time on learning/implementing it, vs. handling your drives individually (without the risk of screwing up big time)
seriously, worst case is it spreads your project across different SSDs and one fails and you lose like 1/4 of your project...
the only thing that's somehow reasonable for home users on SSDs is imho raid with mirroring or parity disks, which as said all reduce your total usable capacity
but they at least protect your data from one device failure
Yeah i backup my project to 2 separate raid hdd boxes
One has 12tb and one has 32
Unlike my last dev i subscribe to multiple backups
The 32tb is harder to get at cause it spends its life in a fireproof safe
I don't see why you had to post this again either when you got your answer
Well, basically don't use laptop as a work station if you have any better choice.
I believe you can have the option to buy bigger memory size for the same model
But still
In fairness 16GB RAM has treated me fine for smaller projects.
but not for laura style small projects
You can definitely feel it. But it's not a huge problem
The huge problem is you are roasting your fingers on the keyboard
Honestly the cooling is going to be massive issue. The moment that thing goes under load, it's going to give you third degree burns just by being in the same building as it :P
As I said, don't use laptop if you can.
If you get hungry while developing, you can cook a steak on the keyboard! 😀
my rtx 3060 temperature is 86 celsius degrees on unreal engine 5
I have a 500W psu
32gb of ram
and ryzen 5 1400 that i will change sooner
Is my gpu going to burn? lol
cause I saw many people recommending a 550W minimum psu
and a 650W recommended
It's not psu related
Probably case ventilation related
And its not going to burn it has systems to prevent that
I was in OC mode tho
but isn't 88 degrees the very maximum?
now its at 55
Ok then dont be in oc mode If your setup can't handle it
got it
is there a way to let windows pull audio from 2 mic at the same time? like for recording? me and my co dev want to do "same room" gameplay demos and such for our games and the room is big enough for 2 desks but most mics have to be set to max gain to even barely hear us
I thought OBS could pull multiple mics at once anyway?
Would be pretty useless if it couldn't considering the podcast space and such
laptop GPUs whats the lowest possible for 5.2 ?
whats ultimate?
ait
im mostly looking at what price range for the laptops
but im pretty sure that anything but macbook is a waste of money performance wise (atleast when UE on m.x is fully supported)
32gb moves me up in an already uncomfortable price range
yeah im on my asus from 2014 or whavever
cost me an arm and a leg back then
hence why im more hopeful about macbooks
Does getting 64 GB RAM instead of just 32 GB for i5-13600k (6P+8E = 20 threads) make sense or is that an overkill? For compiling I assume 1.5*20 = 30, so 32 GB should be enough, but I wonder about stability of UE5 editor for editing worlds etc. Is it worth it for mid range CPU with only 20 threads?
48 GB wasn't enough? what issues did it cause?
wow, good to know. Thank you!
Would getting 2 more P-cores (i7-13700K) would also be very noticeable for UE5?
ok, thanks.
well i am ok with 16gb of vram and 512MB vram
I had a 9800 gt(?) with 512mb of vram
Because it isn't enough to comfortably develop anything outside of small scale
well still
i was plugging my ram in and out because i noticed one of them wasnt being detected
one of them was working but after toying around eventually even that one has stopped working
and my pc seems to keep resetting - no bio splash screen either
any ideas?
what are the gpu requirements for a ue5-based game?
Hello thanks a lot - i only have 2 slots
Its an older pc and a little tinkering may have cost me. The Ram that was running fine is not running anymore. ):
I tried everything but blowing out dust which there probably is a lot of
Spent like 5 hours - this all started with me adding new ram that didn’t work. I put back the old rams and first one failed eventually both stopped working
All in a days work
Yeah you right tysm im gonna go home soon and try fixing it and cry
Friday night and no pc 🥸
What is the comparable Nvidia GPUs that's on par in performance with base model Mac Mini M2's 10-core GPU?
Hi guys. May I have your advice about a new PC build for UE5 dev? Especially regarding the CPU, GPU, RAM. Well it won't be a prime PC build because I would go indie and work alone.
Is DDR4 better than DDR5? I heard unstable problem of DDR5 for UE5.
Sure, I would do this when I have my PC 🙂 Now I'm only have Macbook Pro M1 for UE5 dev, though it is not supported well like PC.
Run 1 stick...if she boots Reset bios
Considering also hard pads or no?
If you want a durable, fast hard pad I've been using Glorious Elemental Air for a few years and I love it
But it has very little friction so depends if that's what you want
maybe look for cup coaster 😄
get one with some wrist support. much more comfy
im so used to mine. ive been looking at a desk sized mouse pad, because the downside of such a mousepad is i dont have much range of motion with the mouse. which is really annoying when playign games on low dpi :P.
great for staying comfy while developing, not so much so for playing games
mine feels too tall, but i think thats just because the cylinder in my chair has gone kaput and it means I'm quite low down. I'm sure with an actually working chair it would be fine.
I guess it's never bothered me that much because it's the only style of mousepad i have ever used.
oh swet, i didn't know you could get the soft bit separate for desk sized mouse pads!
seems they come with one for a keyboard too which is nice. My keyboard came with one, but it's that really weird, horrible rubberized plastic. Corsair must have a chief of bad designs
Tbf my issue was probably buying a corsair keyboard
It's nice but the keycaps are so weak
already had 3 break on me
the bit where the stem of the switch goes in really likes to just spontaneously snap in half making it useless
so brittle
ooh the k95 does look nice
I love my desk sized mousepad highly reccommend one
got the strafe rgb mk 2 at the moment.
aside from the keycap issue it's nice, but it is quite big. been looking at a smaller 65% - 70% keyboard with separate mousepad.
Low sensitivity in games so a lot lol
for me in shooters quite far, because i play low sensitivity and low dpi. its not much of an issue for doing general purpose things but for accuracy in some games you need quite a wide range of motion
I play fortnite like 24/7 on low sens so I get a full arm workout
I used to play CS:GO a fair bit so that's where mine came from. Haven't really since but the habit stuck
And that's why you've got a single muscly arm.
Rate the mousepad
-5/10
going to pretend thats a 10/10
smart move ngl
aren't all desks textured. never seen the world grid material on a desk :P
I just like the funky patterns and designs like these
that topographical map one is 🔥
I still think you get a Fortnite one tbh
lol i think i actually found yours
got it for cheaper lol 😆
damnnnnnn
about $5 (aud)
impressive. did it take 3 and a half years to ship or something
~6 days from china
painting by numbers desk
not bad at all
was very suprised as most of my stuff from china takes over a week
why are there so many nsfw mousepad designs. what is wrong with people. why does this market exist 😭
just be normal and get a funky pattern
or fortniite
now this is a pretty cool one
there's so many good ones. i can only pick one :(
although i do need a new chair
anyone got any good reccomendations for a good chair that's comfy to sit on for like 6 hours at a time
Get a high end office chair theyre designed well for sitting
I was going to say what do these people do when people come over but I realised something
yep i was about to say the same thing
damn a lot of these office chairs are pricey. How the hell can a chair cost £800 let alone £10000
Look online for surplus stores near you
You can find good office stuff for really cheap
i will admit that 10k one looks insanely comfortable
oh wow they're all 1+ hour away form me
damn
guess im in for a drive :P
Check if they have online stock
might just have to get another not-too-expensive one from amazon and complain it's no good again in 3 years
The cycle continues
it's a vicious one
Does anyone here have any experience with using eyetracking hardware to control your mouse, rather than using your hands?
lmaooooo 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
I've used soft mouse pads for a long time and ended up replacing them every few months because the surface finish gets damaged and has a lot more friction (or at least enough for me to notice and annoy the crap out of me)
Until a few years ago I tried this hard pad and it's the best one I had yet, and been using the same one for a couple of years now
But you need ceramic mouse skates instead of the regular PTFE ones, they get destroyed within a week
(Plus ceramic one provide even less friction so in a combo with a hard mouse pad it's pretty much perfect if you prefer low friction)
meanwhile i'm using my table as mouse pad for over 10 years
lol
best thing is that there's no boundaries
I'm very picky when it comes to mice and mouse pads
I like to play competitively and if the surface has inconsistent friction (which is often the case with used soft pads) it annoys the living crap out of me lol
ok, idc much about gaming or my actual "skills"
also it wont work for every table, this is a cheap one with veneer(?) finishing
so it's not too rough or glossy
that ice one confuses my greatly. what is glass infused cloth and why does it exist
and how is it beneficial
It's a normal pad with tiny glass beads infused into the surface
So you get flexibility of a normal one with surface friction close to a hard pad
Tho I haven't tried that one, only one I tried is Air
that sounds super weird
i'd be super tempted too if they made a desk sized
see the above conversation about my funky pattern obsession :P
glass in cloth... what could go wr..cough..ong
in fairness it does explain what element results in what change to the surface
is fire the heat from the surface friction?
Apparently the Ice one is pretty good if you want a hybrid
The Air one, if you want a really good hard pad might be one of the best low friction hard pads there are
I'm loving mine
i've never even heard of hard mouse pads. at that point though, why not just use your desk. they tend to be pretty smooth
I mean.... I don't know how else would you describe a hard pad 😅
It's straight to the point as it gets lol
Desk generally isn't a good surface for a mouse pad, friction is going to be irregular and not to mention the micro pattern on the surface plays a massive role with an optical mice sensors (less with laser ones), and if you have a high end mouse it's gonna be optical
Optical will be way less precise on a desk, and almost unusable on a glass surface
Mouse pads (at least quality ones) have optimized surface pattern specifically for the sensor to pick up
Not many people prefer hard pads, you will generally only find them among competitive players, esports, etc...
But even then they are in minority
If you've been fine with a soft pad, you won't like a hard pad
If the surface friction of a soft pad annoys you often then hard pad might be for you
oh yeah definitely not for me then. i've never really noticed friction being that bad even in competitive games.
although the ice pad is interesting
oh wow. i guess i've never noticed because i only use my mouse on my desk rarely, and it's never for games
the only thing that bugs me about my mouse is the wire is kinked from when it was packaged, and the bends in it consistently catch on my monitor causing resistance and drift
Yeah, when I'm getting a mouse I'm looking for ones with a soft braided cable
Exactly for that reason pretty much
side note: do you know of anyway to dekink the cord, or am i going to have to buy a new mouse even though this one is 2 weeks old
I don't 😅
Tho I feel like there must be some way lol
this can't be the normal way of using it 😭
i refuse to believe that im not missing something obvious
Get a mouse bungee
This thing
or let the mouse hang of the desk if the problematic part is close enough, weight and time might bend it back to it's "natural form"
welp thats it. on payday im buying a two arm vesa mount and a mouse bungee :P
im fed up of my monitor taking up so much damn space on the desk
Mouse bungies are great.
But why pay $15 for one?
That's $3 for the bungie, $12 for the name!
I'll have to take a look, thank you :D
input lag 🤮
i tend to misplace stuff that isnt wired down
they fall on the ground and i step on em
i have a drakonia
my mouse is a corsair harpoon rgb pro
i heared batteries last longer now.. but yea
the bottom on this thing stays clean... its amazing
I hate charging it
i have no idea why... i had to clean my other mouse all the time
i have extra weights in my mouse for some reason
use google glass as your monitor 🧠
just removed the rest of my weights.. its awwsome
fastest hand in the west
yes
it is me doin unreal stuff.. you can see the logo on the screen
its my grandmothers gaming chair\
like for real
prolly 100 years old... hand crafted 1 of a kind
its the legendary gaming chair
has a $13 logitec mouse and is happy with it
yeah mine was about £20 too
can't fault it
never understood the hype of a super expensive heavy mouse with 1,000,001 macro buttons
some mice block up when you hold more than 6 buttons
Some mice don't have more than 6 buttons. These are the good mice.
mines got 4, well 5 if you count middle click
left, right, and a forward and back on the side
Mine has 6 if you count teh dpi switch.
oh mine does too then :P
i like my cheap wireless mice, i can get 6 batteries for like $1
cheap as hell to keep running and stick them in a drawer of my desk, unless your stupid you know when the bat is near dead
Would Nvidia rtx 4070 to be good for a pc to run ue5? Or would it be worth it to spend more?
On the gpu
Does Nitro N5-640 have a heatsink? I can't find info on it
its a prebuilt computer. it can't not have a cooler
So I should get a heatsink with my Seagate FireCuda 520 ZP2000GV3A012 2TB?
FWIW that pc is quite bad and overpriced for the things you want to do
8GB RAM is not even enough to play games let alone make them, and videos
?? I don't have 8gb of ram
I got I5-12400F, 3060 "12GB", 16GB RAM, 512GB Kingston SSD
Why do I always buy a PC that I can't find anywhere?
Find service & support for your Acer products, search for BIOS updates, manuals, drivers and patches.
ah my bad
i love it when they put wildly different specs under the same product name
really helpful acer, thank you
I can't see a picture of the motherboard so assume no ssd heatsink and buy one imo
There's a fan that apparently wasn't included in the picture
It's about on the GPU fan height and on the left side
Not sure is that a GPU fan
yeah that definitely doesnt have a heatsink for an ssd
But I got 1 fan above the GPU and one on the left side of the image that's a bit bigger
Also do you see a slot for an M.2 SSD there?
i cannot, although i think i see one plugged in
Where?
just below the cpu cooler looks like an m.2 drive
but apparantly you have 3 slots, so it will just be taking out the gpu and looking for another slot
i think i spy one actually
that looks like an m.2 port
Also sorry if I'm a bit clueless but if the I/O expansions say I have 1 PCI Express slot so does that mean I have 1 used or 1 available for expansion?
yep it is
its got the standoff slot for it
you'll also want to order an m.2 standoff, because that doesnt have one in there, and you can risk damage to it without one
The black thing?
the black thing with the little screwhole above it a little bit
Tf is tjat
Standoff
basically a piece of metal that you screw in to stick up off the motherboard
makes sure your ssd will be level rather than bent down
one of these, should only be a couple of euros
Oh so not bad
Is this a ram slot?
I'm running out of ram on 16gb when using UE5 so I gotta use page file
both your ram slots are full, but yes, thats them
a standoff basically means your ssd lies like this
Wdym both? That isn't full
Ohh
So that's what the hole is for?
yes
I don't get how you don't lose your mind explaining everything to me 💀
there are two slots therer and both of them have sticks of ram in
I thought I put it in the middle
youll find with prebuilt they only give you 2 ram slots to save money
no
its certainly a keyboard of all time
seems a bit overpriced for what you're getting
but it wont be a bad keyboard
It's a keyboard that exists
ah thats why it's expensive, its aluminium top plate
What about Wooting 60HE?
I want a fast keyboard that's TKL or 60% with FN keys
you'll get some enthusiasts that will be like "wow you use [insert certain switch], hope you enjoy mush" or people like "I would never use an ABS plastic case 🤮"
but it doesnt actually matter, its all preference
I don't care much about the sound just the speed and usability
I can have TKL for the f keys and a separate numpad for mod menus
take a look at the Keychron V or Q series they could have something for you
I need a nordic keyboard tho
Here, but could take a bit to get to you.
Keychron V3 (UK-ISO, DE-ISO, ES-ISO, FR-ISO, Nordic-ISO, SW-ISO) is a fully customized 80% layout compact mechanical keyboard packed with all premium features and endless possibilities. The V3 allows customizable capabilities for every key switch, keycap, knob, and stabilizer. It’s made for your personalized experience and a more comfortable typ...
Still slower than Apex 9 TKL
How can you tell?
Actually the specifications tell how fast they are 🤓☝️
I'm a bit curious what attribute you are using as a measurement of "speed" (whatever that means in the context of a keyboard)

Maybe the polling rate?!
that one Zeltig linked had a 1000hz. Why would you need a keyboard higher than that? Sending input every millisecond seems more than enough.
not for Gamers™
That's all about the power to weight ratio.
@iron zenith You weren't around at the time but guess who had the illustrious honor of troubleshooting a faulty memory controller in a 13900k
I'm sure intel gives every valid RMA an option to get a wire transfer refund but I like to think I'm special
its usually the dropshipper where u buy it that does that
i never buy parts from nvdia/amd/intel/ whater site
Do I need to make a significant upgrade to my system to use UE5 comfortably? I currently have a Ryzen 7 2700, 32gb ddr4 and a gtx 1080
Not sure, it has been awhile since I had to RMA anything but I can't recall them being willing to give back MONEY
just try it out, for most things no
Compilation times seem to be pretty horrendous but that's a given I suppose.
in the UE I think they have too... i dont rma a lot and usually get a replacement from same place\
yea if you compile the whole engine it takes a while.. if u dont change some parts its done in a sec
Hmmm maybe I need to learn more about that then. Compilation and shaders/lighting are killing my enthusiasm for it. I'm so used to the other side haha
well BPs compile in an instant
heavy shaders take a bit... but if you use variables you often dont have to change em often
you can set light to dynamic and it wont have to build and change it it static when u think its good
Will try those steps to see if things improve. I agree about BPs but I guess that means no C++ for me, the live coding doesn't seem to be working very well
you need to have unreal un solid state that changes a lot for c++ compile
if you make a c++ plugin to add BP functions compile time shouldnt be too bad
anybody ever had this issue?
it's like it's ignoring my 80GB pagefile
why is it trying to access D: anyway? I don't even have a page file there, nor the installation of UE5.
I'm using an SSD but the performance is terrible still, turned off everything I can think of and I can't work out why but dropped frames and generally bad performance. I might take another look another day
Does anyone here use Display Fusion - I love it but I swear it's glitching the editor sometimes
looks at 80% of my steam library cant wait to get that desktop
this laptop has issues playing minecraft
dates it doesnt it
Is these two i5 13600KF + RTX-4070 FE combination are good?
I bought Apex 9 Mini
Idk it looks kinda slow
Bruh
I assume that's sarcasm but it got 0.2ms response time, zero debounce time, 1-1.5mm actuation point, 35g actuation force
At least it's not one of those lame split keyboards
I've been getting a lot of those D3D crashes lately, so I found MSI afterburner to see what the issue was. I followed this tutorial down below, but I'm not sure what to set the Voltage to in the Curve Editor anyone know?
I didn't change the curves yet
The button on the right towards the middle?
Got it
fR
You got studio drivers installed??
Yup just did that today in fact.
Did a clean install of the GPU Driver specifically for the 40 series.
That's weird I'm using afterburner and got no issues
Studio drivers fixed the crashes for me tho, also I got more fps lol
I installed Studio after I got the D3D error.
So I'm not entirely sure if it fixed the issue just yet really.
So I'm looking to develop semi open world maps no bigger the size of a MHRISE map what's specs should I have I assume 32gb ram
size doesn't matter
Specify
Interesting didn't know that
it's like blowing up a balloon
the rubber amount is still the same
no matter the size
I plan to just fill it with basic enemies you know BOTW like
are you okay?
MHRISE and BOTW sounds like you got a stroke
you cant just assume that everyone here knows every game....
Well they are extremely popular when I say BOTW about everyone I talk to know s regardless I mean Legend of Zelda Breath of the wild
never heard of it
Except on a much smaller scale I'm not to ambitious
Probably just because I'm from a gaming background
Hey all! Can I send a link here with some PC components, and can some tech experts tell me please if this build is ok, or what should be changed in it? I can send it in private too.
Sry I don`t know why this is not public, I set it to share to public, still not working 😦 I try it with your weblink, moment.
It's a really good site.
It may even tell you where you can buy the parts teh cheapest in your country.
Yes nice site thanks. Just it took me some time to find every pice and add them one by one.
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K, GeForce RTX 4090, be quiet! Pure Base 600 ATX Mid Tower
I am not good with PC tech, can you recommend me please a good 240 Hz monitor for 1440p gaming? This set I`ll be using for 1440p gaming mostly. I have old pc win 7 and geforce 750 Ti.
Does it need to be 240Hz?
The chance of you running a game that benefits from it is extremely small.
It makes even less sense in single player games.
PSU wise, maybe a 850 W Psu will be enough? No need for an 1000 w psu?
240Hz is like pro gamer territory.
850W will power just about everything, unless you're running a threadripper and 4090.
Or double graphics cards etc
what is threadripper?
I think that website also gives you power requirement, doesn't it?
yes on top upper right corner
Threadripper is the ridiculous-core-count AMD cpus. They take like 300Ws just by themselves.
Normal high tier cpu is closer to 150W?
Oh, no, just the stuff I sent through that site - these will be in that build.
I don`t understand your question sorry.
I updated the build, forgot to add the Blu-Ray reader/writer:

If you're spending that much, get 64gb of ram.
How can I know if the Case is enough for all these stuff?
Estimated Wattage: 760W
29W from the RAM... 👀
You don't want a midi tower for a 4090. You want a full tower.
You may want a different hsf too. Seems it might not be compatible.
What is hsf?
HDD cage (in height of graphics card) installed (mm) 280
HDD cage (in height of graphics card) removed (mm) 425
From Bequiet
It will fit, losing one or two of the HDD cages.
It comes with one (of two possible) front 140mm fan and one back 120mm fan.
No support for bottom fans. Sounds warm.
Can I put in this case the blu-ray reader? Or the Gpu won`t allow it? Thx for detailed information. I am checking it on the site too, but I am a total noob for these. I like this case so much, I dont want a bigger one, or other one 😦
The case has drive bays on the top. Completely different location from the HDD cages.
Heatsink and fan.
Max.construction height of CPU cooler unit (mm) 165
Although it supports up to a 360mm radiator on the top.
You mean the 2x SSD and the heatsink thingies on them wont fit correctly in the case, other components might be blocking them? Or might block each other? This is really hard to see and tell virtually just by specs , right? I mean to tell, if no components will be blocking each other.
The Inno3D X3 OC GeForce RTX 4090 24 If I readed it good, its just 2 Slots , and it fits into midi towers.
You shouldn't have a problem with the ssds, tehy screw directly on to your motherboard.
My bad, I mixed them up with the Rams.
Thanks for the help everyone. I might have some more stupid questions later, if you dont mind it, or I can ask in private DM not to annoy others here on this channel much.
What monitor should I buy with this build? Only 27'' monitor I want to buy, and a 1440p monitor. Mostly for single player games, and some multiplayer games. Around 240 Hz, not more. What do u recommend to buy? If lower Hz monitor, can you write down, if it`s enough? Like a 170 Hz monitor. Thanks!
And should I change the PSU to a 850 W model?
Not with a 4090. <_<
Like I write above, I have an ancient PC, win 7 and geforce 750 Ti, so I want a new one, for long years. Nothing is working on win 7 by now. This 4090 looks like a best. I don`t really want to spend this much money for a new Pc, but my current pc is obselete. Old. So I have to buy a new pc. I was thinking about to buy an Rtx 4070 Ti 12 GB Vram, is that viable for 1440p gaming? Future proof for how many years? Noone knows that I think, how technology will evolve, right?
What about this PC? For 1440p gaming it`s enough?

Your opinions?
i dont do futureproof, i buy a new pc more often
i go like 1500$ max usually around 1k... but your budget might be diffrent
get a new1 about every 2 years
I am saving for a new PC for a long time now.
yea... and now you can find a pc faster than yours in a dumpster
congrats, free upgrade
Just I can`t decide what gpu to buy, what pc for 1440p gaming.
Because I am not a tech expert or pc maniac hehe... 🙂
well really doesnt matter much... get something top rated in ur price class
you generally get what u pay for when u buy new
if you buy a 600$ card now its like 10 times faster than ur 750ti... if you spend 1200 its 10.5 times faster
pulled these numbers from my ass but i bet they are pretty close
Probably. I cant tell.
if you go 1440p 144hz you prolly cant max all settings in some games anyways
doesnt matter how much you spend you allways have to turn some settings down to hit over 144
You mean with the build I just sent , the rtx 4070 Ti PC?
yeqa pretty much any setup
.sk is where?
Slovakia. The page is in english? Maybe its bugged.
prices are just diffrent in countries
so it might be a good deal in slovakia but not here or other way around
i guess it looks decent, id go for 2 slots of 16gig ram, and id need extra drive space, doesnt have to be SSD
didnt look at the brands of gpu/mobo or any of that or what the premium is for pre build pc... thats often not that high overhere
Roger that, thanks for infos.
