Can anyone help me with unreal swarm problems? If I make a template level and try to build, or build lighting, the building hangs at 100%. I think swarm is the problem. I tried allowing it in the firewall settings, verifying the engine, and neither worked. I have a log that says "Channel already registered, suggesting another SwarmAgent or client is running."

@grizzled swallow Third person template. I did not have this issue before in 4.19. After downloading and updating to 4.21.2 suddenly both versions of the engine won't build lighting. When I click the build button, everything freezes until I end the swarm process in task manager, after which I get a "failed to connect to swarm" message.

because the only other reason I can guess, would be, that some other program, is using the same port as swarm agent

Why when i add grass to my hole map and it tells me to fix lighting when i do like 1 min later it freezes my pc but only when i add stuff to my map

when you add new meshes, grass, threes, or what ever you put into the map, then you will to rebuild lightning
and the reason for your computer freezes , could be because of low CPU, or low Ram, that means it does take alot of Ram and CPU usage

How can I go about passing this information from a c++ code

I dont want the level it goes to be hard coded, cause it may change randomly
So in C++ I have generated a map, and used playerinfo to call it and make use of it to give my player values of what room he is in
now that I have what room he is in, and I have what door he is opening, I can use that info in a c++ class to call my gernated array map, and determine what level should load next , and produce the correct string
my issue is HOW do i create that class so that it is findable by blue prints

well basically what i did was just learn to do one thing at a time

i started with an inventory system
oh, thats a great process to learn from
basicaly learning to pickup items and store them and use them and all that stuff
apperently inventories are one of the harder things to start off with

next i went to things like adding simple animations to my guy, make em walk faster, run and all that stuff
how long did this part take to make?
well i mean i did it on and off right
so say i wont touch the thing for a month at a time
but i was messing with this stuff for about a year
before i started to get into the intresting stuff
so after that i started learning everything i could about, procedural generation
and thats where things get bananas
animations arent my strong suit really
so i did kinda struggle with that part
and if i wana go back and change some animation stuff id probably have to rewatch a tut or two
but no biggie
should come back as i watch to tut
so basicaly what im saying is you gota have an idea in your head of what it is you want to do

I had this same issue when I had a 1060 GTX 6GB. I upgraded to a Radeon 590 8GB and never had this error since.

In ray trace render I can see the triangles of my mesh, Hard shadows, etc
and in path trace I have such better lighting and the mesh looks good, the only problem I have is the decals are missing, how would I solve it and the noise for the final render??

is anyone available to help me fix a terrain problem that I'm having? I've gotten it to work fine with auto generation but once I decided I needed to paint some fix areas/ I added the LayerBlends and have them all associated properly... something isn't working. if I push Fill layer, my ue4 seems to freeze as if it's loading something massive and then when it unfreezes a couple of seconds later it's done absolutely nothing to the terrain

I'm having issues with aiming on my turret which is attached to a vehicle. When I turn or accel/decel the vehicle, the aim of the turret goes up/down (I feel it is inheriting vehicles roll for some reason) although I use my own camera movements and dont inherit any pitch/yaw/roll in my spring arm
Any ideas?
I just want the aim to be pretty much centered rather than following the car at all

All you have to do is put the function into a C++ BP library and then you'll have the node in BP
you can create a BP node from the C++ functionality, not as hard as you think

I have an actor that I'm trying to add a keyframe for in my sequencer, but any time I adjust the rotation of the actor, it vanishes. Sometimes it becomes visible again if I restart Unreal, sometimes it doesn't. Is there anything that I can do about that? It's making it very difficult to finish the sequencer.

Im getting a highly illuminated environment even if i have just one directional light with intensity 1 and one skylight. How can i reduce the illumination while still getting good, dark shadows?

1- You might consider disabling the eye adaptation
2- Reduce the intensity of the skylight. Directional light doesn't affect the shadows, but skylight does a lot.

Replicated Multicast Event doesn't get called on clients if called from BeginPlay event, works flawlessly if called from Input events. I use blueprints, plz. help!

But I want to call it from server 'cause it should be called only once at the start of the session.
So, what I try to achieve is to randomize some data on the server and the replicate it to every client. In my case it is random player models - server picks a random one for every player and since apparently skeletal mesh is not automatically replicated by engine I need to do it myself calling a multicast event from a server using a hasAuthority? check. I suppose my problem is that multicast gets called before clients are able to retrieve any RPC if I use BeginPlay. So, by what can I replace BeginPlay Event in blueprints to make multicast work? C++ supports more events than blueprints and there is some event like OnNetworkReady (made up the name, forgot the real one), is there anything similar for blueprints or don't I get anything?
Can do a sleep before the function as a quick solution but you should do a check for all players connected if you have a lobby before then cross check with that player count

@dusty tinsel this is cause you probably got it from another project,so you don't have the same inputs as the other project
so just make those inputs with the same name

I'd ask in source control. Depending on how you have it setup it's not always straight forward to restore things.

Rebooted all devices
Checked the firewall to make sure discord is allowed
uninstalled my VPN
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew
the next steps are get a new router/modem or have the lines checked
uninstall & reinstall of discord didn't seem to help
it affects web and ap versions
it's not just discord it's torrenting and streaming too
all udp/rtc type connections fail which feels like line noise
but my router has tons of errors
I'll take any suggestions though, maybe you know something I haven't tried.
Hello. I have a problem when exporting the grass from Megascans. That's happening only with the grass, other meshes exporting perfectly. But the grass always white. Can anyone help?
Discord says 1) Restart your Modem+Router+Computer - You'd be surprised how often the "turn it off and turn it back on again" trick works
2) Check your Firewall/Anti Virus and make sure that Discord is whitelisted/temporarily disabled
3) Check your VPN (We only support VPNs that have UDP)
4) Check with your network admin - If you're on a work/school network, Discord could be blocked!
5) Change the server's voice region - If you're the admin, try a different voice region in Server Settings -> Server region
6) Disable QoS - Head over to User Settings -> Voice & Video and turn off "Enable Quality of Service High Packet Priority"
7) Head over to https://test.webrtc.org/ and see if any errors pop up.

I couldn't find an easy setting for this, apparently it's difficult. Anyone know an easy trick to stopping a point light (any light source) from creating a bloom in the atmospheric fog? I want to use a fill light, but I don't want to see the invisible bloom in the air. Thanks so much!
