Could yuo explain why would anyone want to network animations? When you're doing networked gameplay you definitely want to reduce the amount of information transmitted. So this system makes no sense to have in a networked game. Can you explain is this a custom movement system or only animations or what is this "locomotion" thing about exactly?

I've just released my first commercial UE4 plugin (Although I actually wrote a number which are in the Engine) :-)

The plugin I wrote is called Detective Plugin. It's an editor tool which will allow you to quickly see which plugins are being included in your project. It's intended to be a tool you run maybe once every engine upgrade. This way you can keep track of some small things which could be contributing to your build and cook times.

I am currently awaiting approval for the UE4 marketplace, but in the meantime I have also released on itch.io.

@soft fox actually thanks for reporting that I didn't notice it. Yes the inventory menu allows you to spawn both meshes and custom blueprints which must inherit from a blueprint included in the project. The way to set it up is explained in the tutorial videos included in the project.

Hey guys ,

After spending a lot of time doing static scenes, I felt it was a natural progression to move onto something more dynamic. The thought of doing a cinematic sequence using a real time engine had been lingering on for a while. Wake, the short movie, is my first venture into making 3d animated movies using real time rendering engines such as Unreal Engine in this case.
Shots were captured in 4k @48FPS in UE 4.20.

Hello everyone!
I just want to share my story.

It took me one 1 year of development to release my game (Withstand: Survival) to early access in March 2020. And I still can't believe that lot of people supported this project.

I was very scared when at first release day it got Mixed ratings and some people released videos with bugged version. But after 3 Months of hard working and releasing lot of updates - I finally got Very Positive 81% (Recent) and Mostly Positive 75% (All reviews).
Since first version the game changed completely, now there is new game modes, new locations, enemies, totally changed saving, loot spawn and balance systems, implemented lot of UE4 optimization features like - level and texture streaming, distance fields, instancing and etc. The game still not finished and is in active development - but I already experienced all kinds of emotions while was working on it - joy, fear, sadness, desire and more.
I also made an announcement where I posted all new things that I am working on, it has some beautiful environment pictures, hope you will like it :)

Congrats on shipping your game and putting it on steam thats quite the achievement but just some feedback from one developer to another; there isn't any need for hashtags or excessive emojis on a discord server like this.

By all means show your game and definitely be proud of it, but there are better ways to word your release message, as we are fellow developers and potential customers.

Also I personally find it a bit untasteful that you are monetizing a Global Pandemic that is affecting everyone and killing 1000s every day that is still ongoing, especially calling your game the exact diseases name.

I actually have to agree with Calvin on this one. I find it extremely distateful as well. Also, the way the author seems to be putting it out there really makes it look like the game is a cash grab with the title "COVID-19: BIOHAZARD" (which is a complete knock-off of Resident Evil: BIOHAZARD) and the studio name WB Games, which we all know WB=Warner Bros. While the author may not have felt the results of the pandemic, millions of people, innocent people mind you, have felt it either through family or friends dying, or themselves. Hundreds of thousands of people died and there are a lot more that are left. And a game like that to profit off of a pandemic and people's death shouldn't be made in my opinion. It speaks volumes about the character.

Honestly who ever told you to only use artstation at uni should be chewed out, that is terrible advice, you also need to work on your resume. Find other examples of similar people at companies you want to work at and move/work towards that level of work.

Try searching for subjects and use the filters on art station to find similar roles/resumes to your self and that should steer you better than any advice you can get. Aim high man and work hard and you will get results.

@median nest nothign wrong with ArtStation for designers, but you aren't showing a very good level design portfolio, look at this: http://magnarj.net/ - as simple as it gets and has all relevant info with no clutter or distractions. You don't seem to be doing level design but rather everything - nothing wrong with having a broad skillset but for a portfolio it needs to be focused (the point of a portfolio is to get jobs, otherwise it's just a blog), so if you are trying to get a job then focus on a specific thing and excel at that and show your understanding of it. If you just want to keep track of your stuff and have a place to link to then your artstation is fine, but it's not going to get you very far with employers

Do you hate using photoshops batch file system for RMA textures? Are you poor and can't afford photoshop like me? have you scaled google for an "RMA texture packer" that you can hit 1 button and it works, but didn't find diddly squat because it's niche? Well BEHOLD I went ahead some time ago and created a texture packer, because I have all of those megascans in a directory and didn't want to use their material plugin. https://www.facebook.com/SteelResurrection/posts/774108536437041 there's a github link there, but this is more information and screenshots, it does look like garbage but it's all functional, it does 300+ textures in a few minutes.

RMA means you use 1 texture for roughness, metallic and ambient occlusion because they're black and white anyway.

it's setup to check the file extension of megascans specifically, but it has that to swap, from what I read online the metallic was better in the green, there was slightly better results, something to do with the bit of the G channel or something
