Hey peeps,
Just released a very, very basic plugin which allows you to load reference images into a tab in UE4 / UE5 and view them in engine without having to import them into the engines content browser. It's main purpose is to help those with limited screen space / monitors so they don't need to keep tabbing in and out of the engine. Hello guys! I am one of the creators of Blockchain plugin for Unreal Engine, however web3 plugin would be a more suiting name as it goes way above just blockchain communication, and into cryptography use cases and large integer math.
But without digressing - the plugin support all ETH virtual machine networks. Hello everyone. During 6 month of C and Python programming I fixed Blender armature system: (skeleton mirroring, editing and display) for Unreal Engine 5 (SKM_Manny and SKM_Quinn) and 4 (SK mannequin) FBX skeletons. I also fixed extra root bone in FBX exporter. Now everyone can fit UE4 and UE5 Epic Skeletons to their characters in Blender and symmetrically edit them in Pose and Edit mode without any plugins. Now people can edit startup pose on default Unreal Engine 5 animations in edit mode. Hope it helps. I did my best as i can. Yes they are using the volumetric cloud system. But we added our own twist to it. Unreals System is great for creating SOME great looking sky. But we wanted to be able to artdirect it entirely. The solutions with volumetric textures from Houdini or so have been way to limiting and expensive. Like most very impressive demos only show 3 clouds for a reason, those textures are heavy.

We used a metaball like system instead we can place elipsoids and define things like density, windspeed, noise tiling etc but also color per "metaball"

That's fascinating, thanks for the reply! I've had a similar experience with volumetric clouds being pretty limiting when it comes to art direction and stylization, and I've been exploring options to add some flavor. I've been going down the path of mesh based clouds with Nanite's upcoming support of WPO, but that's really interesting to hear about your team's metaball-like approach. Thanks for the insight!

A colleague of mine and I attended an online training on UE for a month to learn new tricks and tips in the software. We had to create a 15sec-long sequence, and we both went for something very stylized, using the plugins developed by our company to achieve these styles (EPOS and ILIAD). My colleague went on something Ghibli-like for the background, and I went for something more childish with bright colours. Any feedback is welcome 🙂

Here is a demo for my Anamorphic CineCamera plugin just released at the Epic Unreal Engine Marketplace. It will introduce an Anamorphic CineCamera component to alter the squeeze ratio of the bokeh when rendering depth of field in the post processing. It also provides the possibility to override existing CineCameras in a project for easy conversion. Plugin uses SceneExtensionView for rendering the multiple passes needed for DOF and is thus supporting engine versions starting from 4.26. For future, the plan is to provide support for custom depth textures and other DOF rendering algorithms. The current algorithm is based on the already available in-engine DiaphragmDOF. For many developers AI is an afterthought, something to do but just enough not to detract from the game. This is changing look to Ready or Not, or MWII AI is being given more depth whether it's AI doing non-combat behaviors (like using the restroom or wandering around, smoking or even getting bored) or even to combat behaviors not in traditional games (peeking around corners, hiding in locations and ambushing the player). i wouldn't call it an update since it is a release of new features and more. Also the code ended up being completely revamped and optimized for performance. Honestly the changes could be put in a whole new package and sold as a different product.

@glass grove @fallow orchid @burnt bronze I heard the first minute of the first track called Greenhorn (on SoundCloud) and I'm only addressing the part at 0:25 which to me sounds exactly like The Good, The Bad and The Ugly's signature whistle. My point about it not being right to sell on the marketplace is that - at least by my opinion - marketplace music should be stripped of any known/well recognized identities, so that it'd be fit for a broad range of projects without placing buying costumers in an uncomfortable position where, should they not know to recognize the origins of the music, they might come off in a questionable manner to their audiences.

Here's a direct comparison (the first is what Marika put up, the second is from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly). Unless I'm stupid and that recognizable whistle is some generic fits-all western music, in which case I'll admit I'm wrong, but I don't think this is the case.

Fair, it wouldn't surprise me that these exist. I still stand by my opinion that it's a non-ideal addition to a marketplace pack. My main reasoning is that it was basically copy pasted and mixed down rather than altered or recomposed, which is the fine difference between 'inspired by' and 'copied'

I'd agree but I dont think thats the case.
1 - its not the entire phrase, so I dont feel it falls into any sort of copy and past / plagiarism or whatever you wanna call that - otherwise people will start copyrighting notes played in order haha.
2 - I dont think that's a relevant motif to Marikas track as a whole - and tbh If that phrase is removed I dont see it making that music more or less interesting

To say a whole pack isn't worth going to the market place because of that is a bit too much - specially considering the quality of the tracks

your trailers need some work. some major improvements i can think of would be:

  • some structure. Its just chaotic gameplay, nothing to jump out as to what the game is or why i should play it. The transitions are just blank screen with some text intersected harshly with no flow.
  • low fps. When the showcase of the game runs poorly, i get skeptical of how it will run for me.
  • bad ui; the ui is chaoticly spaced, unaligned, and uses lots of default stuff. like the default white roboto text, and the default placeholder ui from the achievements plugin
  • music may help as well, although i can find this tough personally.
  • Your description also has no obvious links to get the game. i see a link tree but an example

How-To Use: Place it in Projects Base directory, then either run it in VSCode, or commandline or double click. any of them will do. It just deletes Folders that are un-needed, and it removes them from the plugins as well.

I wanted to tackle better lighting. Originally the design was quite different as it was viewed from a river going toward a cave entrance. Eventually, I had this vision of dark and exaggerated cave lighting, but by using references, I leaned toward making a more natural and realistic look.

I said it costs a bit though unless we have a complex scene with lot of stuff there it's kinda debatable. Have 1 system that is attached to player and collides with just a few things probably not a big deal.
Also this quick method requires less actions to make it work when RVT should have volume, texture, setup for landscape and objects etc etc. Did both things, just imo

It's raytraced thin translucency with refraction enabled. If the glass appears black then it's because your refraction rays are too low (post process volume). Ray traced translucent shadows are off because it causes a lot of noise when viewing objects through the lens and wasn't needed for this shot. Mesh was shaped like a magnifying lens with a flat side toward the camera to prevent fish eye look. I think I may have enabled "output velocity" in the glass material settings to help the translucent sort properly with depth of field.
