also you can control the frames with -frames:v
if you need edit anything, do it in any editor, export in png sequence and process this sequence with ffmpeg. for me works better than any other encoder.

i used Resolve to export the file to a 4k mp4 and then i reencoded it through ffmpeg to a .avi using the settings above, still, ue4 blinks black

A partnership though, would require zed person to be able to cover half the work in total. where i am looking to maybe higher 3-10 people. if i give away more than 50% and own less than 50% i am no longer the Owner of the project, In music i learned this the hard way and got jacked out of over 90,000$

@thorny cipher Yeah, but I don't intend to make a short-term project and I have a (may-as-well-be) spouse to consider. I don't have the funds to live where I do and not be making money for more than about 6 months.
