I'm making an RTS and I had a bunch of stuff already made and working, but started watching the RTS series by Ryan layley, and he was doing things a bit different. So I changed from using interfaces to direct references, and then back... so I think somewhere a glitch formed

Getting references can be a lot easier if it's interfaced because you can make a GetParentRef function in the interface so everything can return itself

he's done it so that buildings were child bps of the unit pawn class. But buildings dont need all the extra stuff that a pawn has. plus I wanna be able to select things like resource nodes, and whatever else

if you don't use interfaces though you can end up with huge casting chains trying to find the right object type. But it's all situational. Sometimes I skip interfaces and do it the old fashioned way if I am storing the reference to the object

I like the way Apophysis works, it gives you squares and you can select which route you want to continue working towards. I think thats whats missing abit from these ones is that human input in the middle of the process

There were historical discussions where it's believed that some island natives could physically not see explorers sailing by on a boat, because the concept of a boat is so unbelievably foreign and impossible to comprehend that they just see a massive blur in the ocean
